Autumn has really set in.
This morning, mist hung over the houses and the sounds coming from
the city sounded muted… In Zeeland, there also is the distance sound
of the fog-horn on mornings like this – that was the only thing missing here.
I like the early morning mist that holds a promise of a beautiful day.
I mean that kind of mist where you can almost feel the sun shine behind.
Mist that dissolves when the sun climbs the sky… and yes, bright light
shines through my window right now.
So let’s make this a beautiful day, starting with a beautiful photo and haiku
about mist…

It’s Tuesday evening, and I’m exhausted!
Last weekend was very hectic and took a lot of my energy (I come to that later)
and on top of that, I decided to clean the kitchen cabinets today. I’m not very
fund of housekeeping tasks, and I certainly don’t like cleaning but – like it or
not – the kitchen has to be cleaned every once in a while… I must say: my hard
work shows. Everything is shiny and I feel very satisfied! Satisfied and tired.
I didn’t want to skip this post though, ’cause I have some things to show you -
but I won’t make it a long post. Well, not too long anyway. Promise.

I woke up very early this morning.
The sun peeped through the curtains and the room was full of light.
I was just dozing off again when, in the corner of my eye, I saw something
strange hovering in the air … it looked like a smoke-curl, but it was not.
The shape of the curl changed while it swirled through the room and the
colours seemed to flow from red to orange to yellow… It was a happy curl!
Suddenly I was wide awake!
I blinked with my eyes – yep, still there…
I wondered what this could be…
and then it hit me – it was a vibe!
Someone had sent me a vibe!
Now I was really curious!
What kind of vibe would it be?
In any event a fun, positive vibe for its color was so bright!
I jumped out of bed, took a leap and then I caught him.
My oh my… it was a cleaning vibe! YAY!
I don’t know who send it to me, but THANK YOU!!!
It was just the one I needed!
I used it well during the day, and it shrank to just an eeny meeny little vibe.
I layed it beside the computer so it could rest. I have the feeling it will be
strong enough tonight to take off again, and I’ll send it to someone else
who needs it. (Jenneke perhaps? Keep your eyes open tomorrow girl!)
..
Do you expect photo’s of a clean house now?
I didn’t take one… but I have some artwork from last weekend to show you!
(Remember: you can click on each image to enlarge for a better view!)

Remember this?

..
It’s the unfinished page
I made for A Year in
the Life of an Art Journal.
I wrote in this blogpost
how I struggled with the
prompt, and in the end
I left the page unfinished
and moved on…
… to come back to it
last weekend!

My creative life ain’t really ‘flowing’ the last weeks. I can’t seem to focus
or work on a page for longer than an hour or so… I guess it all has to do
with watching the Tour de France and writing articles for CmF in between.
A girl can only have a certain amount of things on her mind and it seems
my head is filled with all that. No room for more… (and I’m not even blond
)
So although I DO have something to show to you today, don’t expect
the best artwork from me this time. It’s either unfinished or ‘blaahhh…’
But hey, don’t we all have periods like that?!

I’m excited to be part of the collaborative project that started yesterday
on Seth Apter’s The Altered Page

This 5th edition of The Pulse — The State of the Art –is a survey in words
and pictures of the online artist community. The Pulse is a collaborative
project that aims to introduce you to new artists, help you get to know
familiar faces even more, and allow you access into the creative hearts
and minds of a very talented crew of individuals.
More than 130 artists have answered a series of questions which make up
The Pulse. Their responses will be presented in a series of online posts.
To start things off with a bang, postings from The Pulse will begin Saturday
July 2nd and continue on Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th.
Regular weekly postings begin on Sunday July 10th and will continue
every Sunday thereafter.
You might find lots of familiar artists participating, but I already spotted
some unfamiliar (to me) names of artists who I certainly will check out!
I’m not sure when my name and stuff will be published, I’ll let you know.
..
I’m not used to blogging on a Sunday, but while I’m here – let’s make this
extra blogpost a fun one and stuff it with my latest artwork…
