Good morning and good Friday you all!
Last week, my book title haiku was in honor of our new King. This week I have again a Dutch
‘event-related’ haiku. May 4 & 5 are “memorial days” in The Netherlands. On May 4th, our country memorizes the victims of war (WW II as well as all other wars) and “V-day” (‘victory in Europe’ or ‘freedom day’) is celebrated on May 5th.
First, here’s my booktitle haiku.
Het boek der rusteloosheid
De prijs der vrijheid
The Book of Restlessness
The Price of Freedom
* "Short American" is a phrase that was used for a certain haircut that became popular in the fifties - it refers to the type of haircut that American soldiers/allies had.
This haiku is submitted to Haiku my Heart Friday. Go to Recuerda Mi Corazon to find a link-list of all the other haiku lovers.
The top 2000 party has been reviewed, my blog has been cleaned and the last Chronicles pages from 2012 has been showed… I arrived in the present and am ready to pick up the routine again!
You know what that means at the end of the week, don’t you?
Haiku My Heart Friday!
Here’s the latest haiku that I found in my book case
|Ik herinner mij
De hond met de blauwe tong
De laatste eenhoorn
The dog that had a blue tongue
The last unicorn
I did a bit of a ‘free translation’ to make the syllables fit in English.
The first two book titles are much simpler then my translation…
“I remember” and “The dog with the blue tongue” are more accurate but
I like to get the syllables right… I’m a hairsplitter

Sorry for the noise guys, but I have reasons to celebrate this week…
Yep, the second issue of FEATURING is out and MAN am I proud
of my team – the magazine is again filled with wonderful articles!
I also thank the contributors who send in articles and art – you guys
are all amazing and made this issue as fabulous as the debut issue.
Maybe even ‘fabulouser.’ (I know that is not a word but I’m so excited
I made it up )
I’ve been waiting for this date… August 31.
Today is the day I want to show you something I created last Summer.
Why I choose today in particular to publish it will come clear in this post.
