Easter Haiku / Weekend

Cold day lovelies… errmmm, I mean GOOD day of course – xcuse-me, but “cold” is on our minds here in Holland lately. When I woke up this morning, I found  a white world outside my window… Grrrr, it had snowed. AGAIN *sigh*

The snow melted during the morning, but still: it is too cold for the time of year. These temperatures are a bit strange to experience in the Easter weekend in the Netherlands but hey… I’ll put on an extra sweater and just keep on going.

So here’s the Friday post with – of course – a haiku (a special ‘Easter haiku’ today) and quite some art. I’m pretty productive since I have a studio. So sit down, make yourself comfortable, grab another chocolate egg (you have my permission ;) ) and come on in.

Haiku My Heart Friday

Woorden van Jezus

Beminde gelovigen

Er was eens een God

Words of Jezus

Beloved Believers

There Once Was a God

This haiku was found/written for Haiku my Heart Friday. Visit Rebecca at Recuerda Mi Corazon to find the list of participants and blog-hop from haiku to haiku.

A Breath Of Fresh Air

Last Friday, someone asked “What will you do for haiku when you run out of book covers?”
Well, find a photo and write a haiku myself I guess, like I did before.
But I haven’t run out of covers yet (my bookcase is huge!) so here’s another booktitle haiku.

Haiku My Heart Friday

Naar de vuurtoren

Het lied van de oceaan

Hier is mijn eiland

To The Lighthouse

Thoughts By The Ocean

Here Is My Island

This haiku was found/written for Haiku my Heart Friday. Visit Rebecca at Recuerda Mi Corazon to find the list of participants and blog-hop from haiku to haiku. I assure you, it is a nice way to close the week and start the weekend.

Book title haiku and more…

When you saw my former post, you could have seen and read why my desk was filled with mail art from all over the world. My desk does not look like that today though – the surface is clean and ready for me to paint, draw, collage and journal again – and that is the plan for today and the weekend!

But there’s no start until I publish my weekly haiku – I just cannot start a Friday without it.

Haiku My Heart Friday

Mijn zomer met George

Klein verhaal over liefde

Op Scheveningen

My Summer With George

Little Story About Love

In Scheveningen

This haiku was found/written for Haiku my Heart Friday, and if you want to see more photos and read more haiku, I recommend you hop on over to Rebecca’s blog Recuerda Mi Corazon to find the list of participants.

By the way: you are very welcome to join the ‘Haiku my Heart’ group if you like. We’re all very encouraging and friendly and we will welcome you as a friend, promise!

Oh, and if you don’t know what haiku is exactly you might want to read this post in which I explain about the ‘rules’ of writing haiku. It’s easy and once you start with it you might find yourself counting syllables all the time :)

..

While flipping through magazines searching for images to collage last week, my eyes were drawn to all kinds of words and sentences and so I created an art journal page with a found poem. I guess I was in the ‘poetry-mood’…

Book Title Haiku & “Risky” Art Journaling

The grey and rainy weather in the Netherlands is starting to get on my nerves. It is affecting my mood lately, heck, even Mr. Mojo seems to stay rather in bed than play at the studio table.
I’m sorry dear ones, I will not make this a wining post. I better show you pictures instead of complaining… Today,  I bring you another book title haiku and some art journal pages.

Haiku My Heart Friday

Het stenen bruidsbed

De belofte aan Rachel

Geheel de uwe

The stone bridal bed

The promise to Rachel

All yours

“Written” (‘found’) for Haiku my Heart at Recuerda Mi Corazon

Busy times and weird pages

Last week I was over my head busy getting issue 3 of FEATURING
ready to go to the printer’s office.

Yes, that’s right – you heard well:
READY.TO.GO.TO.THE.PRINTING.OFFICE

Because the second issue was later then we originally scheduled,
we worked our *** off to catch up so that we can bring out this third
issue before Christmas. I’m so proud of my team, my beloved designer
and all the contributors who pulled up their socks to make it happen.
And you know what? There’s just some finishing touches to take care of
and then we have a go!

I recommend you keep an eye on the FEATURING site or follow us
on facebook, so you won’t miss the release.

..

You may not believe it, but I managed to get some art journaling done
in between. Just a few minutes here and there… but the result is that
I can show you two pages in my ‘weird journal.’

Book title haiku #3
& Art Journals

It’s ‘Haiku my Heart Friday’ and so I have a haiku for you.
Again it is one I found in my book case…  I’m by any means done
with book titles, and this is a special one!

While collecting books for my ‘haiku series’, my beloved asked me
if I could come up with a haiku using only books from his shelf.
The haiku would also have to fit him as a person.
Ha… now that is what you call daring me!

Here you have it love: this one is especially for you {kiss}

..

..

Van dichtbij gezien

Een hoofd vol manke vliegen

Zen-zin Zen-onzin

Observed from up close

A head filled with crippled flies

Zen-sense Zen-nonsense

..

The English translation didn’t give me much trouble this time… I only had
to find another word for ‘seen’ – I chose ‘observed’ instead, but the official
book title is ‘seen from up close’.

I am glad that Rebecca, who hosts ‘Haiku my Heart Friday’, is back after
a two weeks’ absence and I look forward to visit the other participants
and read their haiku this weekend. The list of participants is published
on Recuerda Mi Corazon

For those visiting me today that have not seen my former ‘book-title-haiku’,
you can find the series on my facebook page and in my gallery here.
