Yes, that’s right. I will spoil you this week.
(Or ‘overload’ you, if you prefer to call it that )
As you noticed, this is a MONDAY post.
And there will be a WEDNESDAY post and
a FRIDAY- (OR-SATURDAY) post as well!
Why is that, you say?
Well, for one: I was very productive last weekend and
two: there is some work that can’t be showed before a certain date.
I won’t write a long post today, ’cause we have trouble with
the Internet access lately.
My ‘private expert’ spend last weekend figuring out what was wrong,
experimenting and re-setting (and swearing… that too!)
He thinks there’s something wrong with the modem, and he hopes to
get it fixed real soon. In the meantime, I create.
I can’t visit all your blogs as I used too, and I’m sorry that you didn’t
get much comments from me in the past days…
I’m online now, and I just hope this thing let me publish this blogpost!
So lets not make him work too hard (yes, ‘him’. Computers are male!
Rational – thinking in ‘one’s and zero’s’ *teehee*)
Here’s what I have to show:
(you can click on the images to enlarge for a better view)
I don’t like posts with a lot of text myself, but this is one.
There is something I want to explain about my new journal, and I can’t
do that in a few sentences – so if you don’t have the time, you might
consider to come back later. After all, it’s (almost) weekend and most
of you have some extra time – and the subject is important to all of us.
I’ve been thinking about it for a while now… what do I want to show on my blog
(make ‘public’) and what do I want to keep to myself. I know some people share
their deepest thoughts on their blogs, but not me. Since I work with computers
ánd have a computer expert on my side, I know the dangers of the Internet.
You say you know that too, and I believe you. I believe everyone knows it,
but we easily forget. We type in our emotions, we type in our e-mail address,
we have all sorts of accounts (yahoo, flickr, google, facebook) and share our
information in groups that aren’t ‘safe’. Even a ‘private’ group isn’t really
private if it is hosted by a big company like Ning. (That’s why I teach my online
workshops on my own site, with my own server.) You never know what those
big companies do exactly with their databases full of personal information;
YOUR information! We mingle in social networks and in the heat of the
moment share things that we might regret later…
What you put on the Net, will be there forever. For everyone to see.
Friends and enemies, bosses and colleagues, your children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren and who knowes else…
so I’m careful with what I share.
In my Friday post, I told you about the stamps I bought.
Although I don’t stamp very often, I do like to buy them
and little by little, my amount of stamps grew from ‘a few’ to ‘a lot’.
Among them, there are quite some ‘clear’ and unmounted stamps
and it became time to store them properly. But how?
I asked around and looked for store solutions,
but nothing seemed very fitting to me.
Those are too small, and I don’t have room to store a whole row of boxes.
Special boxes to store stamps?
They look like DVD-boxes – same problem.
BUT… when I saw some store systems, an idea came to mind.
Using those knowledge, I made my own system,
and it works very well! YEAY!!!
So here it is. My own stamp-store-system…

“Ik ben vandaag zo vrolijk, zo vrolijk, zo vrolijk
Ik ben vandaag zo vrolijk, zo vrolijk was ik nooit…”
Today I'm very happy, so happy, so happy
Today I'm very happy, as happy as can be...
You wanna know why?
- I finished writing the articles for the March edition of
Creatief met Foto’s. I will have the next Month all for myself!
- The stamps I ordered at VivaLasVegaStamps arrived this week.
- The ‘Tim Holtz scissors’ I ordered arrived yesterday.
- My beloved cleaned the bathroom while I was working
on the last article yesterday.
- I will meet my blog-scrap friends Jenneke, Jeanet and
(maybe) Petra this Sunday.
- I won collage sheets, a sharpie, paper and gorgeous (handmade)
postcard-art at OWOH.
- I drew a winner for my OWOH giveaway (a handmade art journal)
And the winner is…
Lorraine of Love of Collage! Congratulations, Lorraine!
I was in ooh and aah when I visited her blog. Lorraine is an amazing
(collage) artist and my art journal will find a creative and warm ”home’!
I want to thank all the visitors who stopped by during the “One World
One Heart” event. I never thought I would get that many, lovely comments
and I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least… I met so many amazing
artists and found inspiration on every blog I visited. THANK YOU ALL!
Also, I’d like to ‘virtual’ embrace all of my followers – both old and new.
You are the wind beneath my creative wings, and I am very grateful that
I am part of this creative, supporting and loving group of bloggers that I
can call my friends!
OK, that should be enough compliments to get you through the weekend.
Let’s talk about me now… or better – let me show you my latest work…
Some of you were a bit worried after my Friday post.
That’s so sweet of you (you know who you are) but there was nothing wrong
with me. It just was the end of a very busy week and when I finally had the time
to create, my energy was all gone. I had a beautiful half-finished page waiting
for me, but somehow my mojo was gone.
I ended up doing nothing and felt slightly frustrated … and I went to bed early.
The next day, the guys and I started the weekend with an English breakfast
(waaahhh … sausages, bacon, baked beans … how many calories is that?)
I hoisted me into a skirt instead of my worn home suit – which made me feel
all ‘girly’, and the mojo came flying in. Woohooo!
I kept on going, and it’s too much to show it all today.
I’ll save something for my Friday post, so you won’t find ‘nothing’ again…
Nothing to tell…
Nothing to show (yet!)…
I’ll be here after the weekend.
Have a good one dear friends!
…find your own voice!
Hello, hello, this is the teacher in me speaking.
Yep, I start this Tuesday with a blindingly obvious platitude,
but those are the ones we easily forget.
I needed a reminder myself last week…
