The cleaning (see former post) went on on Saturday, but I spend the sunny and
warm Easter days hanging out in the garden. I felt pretty good and satisfied
about the work I’d done and I made time to relax and read (since I picked up
a book after a long time of non-reading – see this post – I’m hooked again!)
But of course there’s not a day that goes by without creating something -
anything!

Thank you, thank you, a big THANKS to all who responded to my e-mail
last month, and sent me a birthday card for my friend Lena!!!
On Sunday, my beloved and I drove to Zeeland to visit her on
her 50th birthday. I carried with me my own presents, ánd a bag
with all your envelopes!!!
I’d printed the e-mail that I sent to you, and let her read it first -
so she would now what it was that I gave her.
Then I handed over the bag stuffed with your mail!
MAN – you should’ve been there – the look on her face was priceless!!!!

On to some art journal pages I made…

I’ve made the deadline for Creatief met Foto’s ,
I wrote 17 articles (60 pages!) in twenty days and today
was my first day off.
YEAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess what I did 
I spend the afternoon creating!
I worked in four different journals at once.
None of the pages is finished yet, but I have something else for you.

In November last year, Seth from The Altered Page called all artists
to submit work for a book he was working on. Seth hosted many
‘collaboration project’ during the last years, and I took part in some.
Although I was very busy the last months of 2010, I managed to answer
his ‘questions list’ for the book and submit a piece. Last week, I received
an e-mail that one-or-more (?) of my answers from the list will end up
in the book, but my art piece didn’t make it.
I’m kinda relieved about that too… I almost emailed him last month to ask him
NOT to choose my piece. When I look back at it now, I don’t find it very good.
It’s OK, but not GOOD. Somehow, my soul isn’t in it.
I’m glad Seth noticed that himself (although he’s too kind to say that!)
Besides being a great artist, I think he’s a good viewer/critic!
But the page isn’t bad either, so today I want to show it here on my blog.
I’d like to hear what you think of it.

Hello, hello there my friends!
This is Freewheelin’ Friday ‘I lost count of the number”
and there’s certainly not much freewheelin’ for me today!
I worked all day, and am facing another busy weekend.
Aaaaarghhh… I do miss my journals, my paint and I especially
miss FREE TIME. I miss the days on which I got up early, knowing
that I had all the time of the world to spend with my art journals.
I must abide by a minute here and there to add something to my
art journal pages – but that’s the philosophy behind ‘art journal every day’
isn’t it? That is exactly what I’m doing these days – work hard during the day,
and play with my art journal pages for a few minutes in between diner and
fave tv-shows/bed.
In those ‘lost minutes’ I did manage to get something done though,
so I’m glad to announce that I can show you 2 (yes, TWO) list pages today.
