47 steps

Sometimes, getting higher requires some effort…

Inspanning vereist.

Zevenenveertig treden

dan zie ik de zee

Forty seven steps.

Some effort is required

to see the ocean

… and sometimes,
without noticing you were even climbing,
you reach a peak from which you have a view you never knew
it lay waiting there for you to see all along.

What’s going on…

… in my life these days?

Well, for one: I am happy, HAPPY,

HAPPY

to say that the cover of FEATURING magazine is finished and looks

ABSOLUTELY fabulous

if I may say so myself.

(… and NO, I am not going to show it – yet.
Allow me to rub my hands together in satisfaction all by myself for
a while longer – a few weeks from now issue #1 will be out and you all
get the chance to see it then.)

That’s not the only secret I keep -  I have a sneak peek of a new art journal
page for you at the end of this post. But all the other events of last week are
public and readable on my weekly art journal page…

A day at the beach

It is around 69  Fahrenheit/20,5 Celsius today.
No, I didn’t spend a day at the beach, but I imagined one!
I made a sunny page with a haiku for Haiku my Heart Friday.

Een dag aan het strand

weer thuis vind ik zandkorrels

tussen mijn tenen

a day at the beach

back home I find grains of sand

between my toes

Spring, Sheep, Chronicles and Workshops

The sun is shining in the Netherlands, my Mojo is back, issue #1
of FEATURING is almost ‘ready to be born’, I have some free time,
I mopped & polished the floors downstairs with wax, I just received
the sweetest letter from my best friend and crocuses exult in the
front yard. Now aren’t that reasons enough to celebrate life?

Teensie, eensie-weensie haiku

It’s ‘Haiku my Heart Friday’ and last week I tried something different…
It all had to do with the FEATURING store that went online.

Not only can people order the magazine, they also can buy a square inch space
on the back cover of the magazine – and this is where my idea came from.

The information says that you should send in ‘art inchies’  only
because it is almost impossible to read text on a square inch.
Yes, I know the info says that, I wrote that myself!

But…

… what about haiku?
Haiku doesn’t have much words.
Would that work?
So I experimented a bit.
See what I did.

Pulling it back in

I pulled and pulled… and *POP*… my Mojo slipped right back in!
Not that I have much time to play with him, but I put him in the corner
where the Muse was quietly weeping for the loss of her husband.
She stopped crying immediately and send a tentative smile my way.

I realize I have to take better care of this couple.
I  nurse them lovingly now.
I water them, I caress them, I blow kisses to them from the place where I sit.
‘Sorry guys, I have to finish some work and then you can come out to play.’

On Sunday, I asked them politely to come out of their corner to play with me.
They did! We had fun!

Oohh, happy playful joyful Sunday!

Vuurtoren – Westkapelle

Schemering valt in

de vuurtoren twijfelt nog

may I flare up yet?
