Wednesday… “Into the Studio” day… and since my energy still lingers – here we go!
(For all of you who wonder why I was offline for so long, read my Monday post here)
Here’s Wednesday’s golden oldie scrapbook layout โ lifted from one of my old scrapbook albums.
(I don’t create ‘traditional scrapbook layouts’ anymore but every Wednesday I dive into my albums and lift a ‘golden oldie.’ The layouts I pick are random, YOU – blog readers – name the number of the album and layout to show. Let me know in a comment which album you want me to open next week – to avoid that you name layouts that have already been requested, you can find a list showing the ‘free’ numbers to choose from on this page.
The request came from Rasz from Rasz Art – who commented on June 28th post and asked me to open album 7 and show layout 45. This is what I found:
All the Lonely People [Eleanor Rigby]
I made this scrapbook layout in October 2009 (see the old post with detail photos HERE) and you can see that back then I started to experiment and create layouts in a different way, not following the traditional ‘scrapbook rules’. (This layout even looks a bit like an art journal page, which is what I mostly work with now…)
I am delighted that my desk does not look as empty as it did the past weeks… and I am happy to show it to you.
Here’s for WOYWW #224
(HI Julia, HI folks… glad to be back!)
I won’t play with the things on my desk today though….
’cause look what I found in the fridge this morning!
Yep… a homemade gelatine plate!
The big diner table down the stairs is absolutely the place to make monotypes, so I plan on bringing down the paint, templates and paint rollers from the studio and spend the afternoon at the diner table.
Hope your day is nice, colorful and creative too!
(Oh, and please leave your request for the next ‘golden oldie’ in a comment – the list to choose from can be found here)

Hey MARIT! I so missed you! It’s good to have you back. Sorry you drowned in that lemon juice – I know the feeling!I looked for your post each week on Wednesdays because I do so love your journals! Anyway, I love that Eleanor Rigby page – great colours and images and terrific lettering: it all combines so appropriately. Judging by your Monday post, you’ve made some really sensible decisions! Hello Marit! I checked here and at WOYWW and saw you were gone. I don’t like the sound of this, the
“loss of energy” type things. This is very worrisome to me. Please email me when you feel up to it and tell me how you are!!
The lonely people layout made me laugh because I did that song in my art journal about Marshall, remember? I recall you saying you made something with that song too. Now I see it!!
Be well my friend and please email me!!!

I like the golden oldie ๐ And how’s that homemade plate working for you? I just got me a used 8×10 one for a great price and have been having a play. Had I not found it I think I may have had to go down the made route to get a bigger one. Look forward to seeing what you do with it…..
Happy (now my internet is back) WOYWW!

hi marit! what a fun and fabulous post! i especially love that pretty layout and the cool annotated photo of your desk! i’d love to post one of those, but i’m afraid people would think my office had been ransacked… it’s a little messy, lol! ๐
thanks very much for your wonderful comments about my stapled collage post at daisy yellow. i’ve had fun making those all summer, and it was really cool to share it with the ICAD/DPP group! i hope you will try the technique, i’d love to see what you make! โฅโฅโฅ

Thanks for stopping by earlier and leaving such an encouraging comment. Trust you liked my other pyrography apart from the Owl. Great idea for people to request what you are going to show next – how about Album 1 number 19 & Album 6 number 11? Kind regards, John W #71.
