I wrote 64 pages in the last four weeks.
Articles for the next issue of Creatief met Foto’s.
I made the deadlines.
It’s done for now (until the next issue )
I will have freewheelin’ time, YEEEAAAAAYYY!
Last weekend, I had a foretaste of how that feels like.
I made a few things and I prepared a few projects.
I want to show you some of what I did.
(Not everything – that would be too much photos.
You will see more coming in the next post.)
Last Sunday was Father’s Day.
Here’s the card I made for my dear daddy…
(Click on the pictures to enlarge for a better view)
(Front and back card. 14,8 x 21 cm - 5.8 x 8.3 inch)
The quote on the card is by Euripides and says something like:
“No better inheritance then to be a daughter of an excellent father.”
And of course I send it to him in a fun envelope!
(I got the idea to embroider the sides from Terri, who shows some
lovely Gift Card envelopes on her blog here)
(Front and back envelope. 16 x 22 cm - 6.3 x 8.7 inch)
And here’s my weekly page in the ongoing ‘chronicles’ art journal.
I can’t do without making my weekly page, even when I’m loaded with work
and very busy with other things, I just have to have some free time – if only
a couple of minutes – to make a weekly page.
I know other people struggle with keeping a journal like this going.
They somehow suffer from the pressure, the ‘must do’ every week; but to me
it’s my escape, it keeps the creativity going, it keeps me sane like my (written)
diaries used to do and I never feel it as a must.
The Chronicles of Marit 2011 – Week 24
(23 x 31 cm - 9.1 x 12.2 inch)
I often work on different pages at the same time.
Cut out images that won’t do on one page, are often useful on another page.
I also like to keep going when something has to dry, so I switch from one
art journal to another all the time. Here’s the two pages (spread) I created
last weekend while working in my Chronicles. See the similarity in colours
(29,7 x 42 cm - 11.7 x 16.9 inch)
The text is part of the lyrics ‘Thuis’ (Home) – The Scene
|achter me vele mooie uren
achter me veel van wat ik wil
achter me kan ik niets meer sturen
en voor me, voor me is het stil
|behind me, many beautiful hours
behind me, a lot of what I want
behind me, I can’t steer anything
and before me, before me lies silence
(I hope my poor translation does this text justice…)
I am looking forward to an exciting and special moment coming this week!
I’ll tell you about it on Friday.
I hope your week will be beautiful too!
