Paper Stack

Good morning on the first day of Autumn!
Yes, fall has arrived with an earthy, mushroom-like smell, hmmm!
I love days like this, and today is special for several reasons:

  • It’s the wedding anniversary of my parents (49 years!) -
    congratulations pa & ma!
  • It’s the wedding anniversary of my brother and SIL (20 years? 21?
I lost count here…)  – congratulations to y0u too dear ones!
  • It is the day that I participate in Seth’s online collaboration project
    Paper Stacks

…lots of artist show their stacks on their blog today.
Be it papers, books, journals, or anything else. I haven’t seen any of the
other artist’s posts yet, but I presume when I start bloghopping I will come
across some fun and high piles of paper, books, journals and artwork.
I reckon I’m not the only one collecting piles…

I took photos for you of some of my art journals (The pile could have been
a lot higher!) so let me show you what I got… enjoy!

..

..

Aaaahhhh… a huge stack of art journals.
Doesn’t it look fabulous?!

(Did I really fill them all? Wow!
The art journal on top is the one I am still working in.
You can see it: half of the book still shows neat, white paper.)

..

I could not resist to zoom in on the pages…

..

All my art journals are handmade.
I use several, different techniques to bind them (Japanese binding,
Coptic binding) Some of them have this ‘Sewn-Over-Tapes’ binding
that I learned from L.K. Ludwig

This is how the spine looks when the book is bound and ‘ready to use…

..

… and this is how it looks when I filled the last page!

Paint and ink leaked through and turned the spine into a festival of colours!
This is the part of the book that I probably love the most!

..

Thanks Seth, for hosting this online ‘party of stacks’ that gives me
the opportunity to show of my pile of art journals!

Find the list of the other participants on The Altered Page – enjoy!
