Hooray for YOU!

Thank you, thank you, a big THANKS to all who responded to my e-mail
last month, and sent me a birthday card for my friend Lena!!!

On Sunday, my beloved and I drove to Zeeland to visit her on
her 50th birthday. I carried with me my own presents, ánd a bag
with all your envelopes!!!

I’d printed the e-mail that I sent to you, and let her read it first -
so she would now what it was that I gave her.
Then I handed over the bag stuffed with your mail!
MAN – you should’ve been there – the look on her face was priceless!!!!

Here’s a photo

See the big stack of envelopes on her lap?
And there’s even more in the bag…. WOWZAH

To see more pics of all the cards and presents,

On to some art journal pages I made…

Freewheelin’ Friday?!

Hello, hello there my friends!

This is Freewheelin’ Friday ‘I lost count of the number”
and there’s certainly not much freewheelin’ for me today!
I worked all day, and am facing another busy weekend.
Aaaaarghhh… I do miss my journals, my paint and I especially
miss FREE TIME. I miss the days on which I got up early, knowing
that I had all the time of the world to spend with my art journals.
I must abide by a minute here and there to add something to my
art journal pages – but that’s the philosophy behind ‘art journal every day’
isn’t it? That is exactly what I’m doing these days – work hard during the day,
and play with my art journal pages for a few minutes in between diner and
fave tv-shows/bed.

In those ‘lost minutes’ I did manage to get something done though,
so I’m glad to announce that I can show you 2 (yes, TWO) list pages today.

Lessons (not) learned

Did you Dutchies enjoyed the warm weather last weekend?
I know I did! I finished my work early, and had some time left to art journal
in the garden. It’s the first time that I brought my markers and copics outside
to work in the open air. I though I would not like it to work while sitting in a
chair without a big table – only a small one to put my markers and tea on.
But I enjoyed it! Painting and spraying will be more difficult this way, but
doodling and writing aren’t a problem to do this way. I’ll remember that, and
I hope we have a nice Summer!

I have three pages for you today!
Two of them are lists (still not done with those :D )
Enjoy!

Lazy days are over…

Last week was my last ‘lazy week’ which I spend (as you know) reading
and creating. Again, my days will be filled with writing articles for
Creatief met Foto’s. The next issue of the magazine will be in the stores
in the first week of May, and I have to fill it before that… that means
I have to write approximately 18 articles in the next three weeks – it is
clear that art journaling will be put on a back burner during that time.

But it certainly won’t come to a complete art journal stop…
you know me ;) I can’t do without art journaling!

Although the quantity of pages will be less in the next weeks,
I have a lot to show you today! All made last week and weekend.
Ready?
Here we go…

Lost

This week, I found something back that I’d thought was gone: to be lost
in a story. The last days,  I found myself in another time and another country,
far away from here. Now and then I woke up as if from a trance, because there
was coffee to be poured, or food that had to be  cooked  – but I was only half
in this world. In my mind, I galloped with daring knights or I sailed on a boat
on a lake where – behind the mists – Avalon waited for me.

I was Druid, Goddess, Knight and Minstrel.
Sorry dear ones, I wasn’t in this world.
I sat in the Spring sun and I read.
I got a tan without noticing it, and I found a long-lost treasure:
to travel to other times and places and be gone from this world.

I am back to the one I once was – a reader.
Reading was a big part of me that I had lost and now it’s back
and I feel complete again!

Here’s the evildoer:

..

Don’t be afraid – I have not forgotten you.
I left my book downstairs on the table.
It’s Friday, and as a faithful and brave knight – I won’t forsake you.
Here are some list-pages!

Look at the date!

Finally… after a cold, freezing Winter with a lot of snow it is here: Spring!!!

The sun is shining, I see crocuses, hyacinths and daffodils everywhere around
and my laundry is hanging outside in the breeze. That means clean and fresh
smelling sheets on my bed tonight – yum!

I’m still working on ‘list pages’ and the Monday-prompt was very fitting:

List #21 – Things to do this Spring

(And here’s your answer to the question – “what book is waiting for you?” – Thinkie!)

..

I have a lot more for you today so grab a cup of coffee, (ice)tea or – who knows
- a bowl of ice cream (see I get sunshine on my mind!), relax and enjoy!

Warm hands!

As promised… here I am!!!

And yes, I got a lot done yesterday.
Can’t show you all (some things are for a customer, and some pages
aren’t finished yet) but I do have some list-pages and a big collage to show.

First I want to show you the lovely gift Rosie send me!

I saw these fingerless gloves (Rosie calls them ‘wristies’) on her blog
early March, and I said to her that I should make myself a pair to wear at
the computer – ’cause really – I’m such a ‘koukleum’ (which is Dutch and it
can be translated as ‘chilly person’ – it has the words ‘cold’ and ‘shiver’ in one.)

Awesome Rosie didn’t tell me a thing, but made a pair for me and put it in
a big envelope together with a beautiful handmade card!
Can you imagine how happily surprised I was when the package arrived?
She wrote “I felt so sad for you when you said how you’re always cold and
I still had some “waistcoat” left, so I made them up!”
How sweet is that?
They now lay next to the computer so I can look at them and use them
every time I get cold! Thank you so much Rosie – I’m over the moon happy!
