New toys

Last week, I was at the Kreadoe, a huge arts and crafts supply fair.
(Caatje published photos of the Kreadoe fair on her blog if you want to
take a look and drool over supplies… I’m glad to say that on the day
I went it was not as crowded as on Caatje’s photos!)  I had no plans to
go at first but last minute I decided to go after all.

Visiting such a big supply fair means that it is impractible to keep
your money in your pocket. I did not really need supplies so I’m
proud to say that I managed to keep my findings to a minimum -
but still there can be done a lot with those ‘minimums’ – take a look.

Everyone who is interested in art journaling and searches the internet,
sooner or later will bump onto Kate Crane and her blog ‘ The Kathryn Wheel ‘.
Kate is a well-known art journaler and I’m very happy that she, despite her
undoubtedly busy schedule, was excited and found time to write a guest post.

Exclusive for the Quirky Dutch Summer Series she made a ‘ Summer journal ‘
and a tutorial to go with it. The result is a cheerful, bright and colourful (how
could it be otherwise … we’re talking Kate Crane here!) ‘Summer journal.’
I wish you lots of fun with this tutorial and am already looking forward to see
all your ‘ Summer journals ‘. And now, I let Kate take over my blog from here…
go ahead girl!

Iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in art journaling en zich op het internet
begeeft, zal vroeg of laat bij Kate Crane en haar blog ‘The Kathryn Wheel
belanden.

‘Summer journals’.  Ik geef nu alle ruimte aan Kate… go ahead girl!

Forced vacation

Good morning friends.
Good morning computer.
Good morning Internet.
Good morning blog!

Last week – Friday evening – the computer went black.
Dead.
Over and out….

My beloved tested everything and anything – but the poor thing
had to go to the specialist. (the computer that is, not my beloved)
It took days… days in which I managed to get the guest post for Quirky
Dutch Summer online via our ‘emergency computer’ which has a very
small screen, a MOUSE (- eeeckkk – I always work with a tablet and pen)
and no access to my photos, my stuff whatsoever.

That’s why I was not able to visit my haiku friends last week.
That’s why I was awfully quiet on the Internet.
I was forced to take a vacation from the world wide web!

The computer is fixed but my beloved took the opportunity to use
our ‘forced vacation’ for cleaning our office space. It’s not done yet so -
although I do have access to the web again – I will have to stay out of
this room for the next days.

I use this one hour I have on the computer to p0st photos I made last days.
(Oh, and I even wrote a haiku!)

Going (olive) green

I’m hooked…

I bought this olive green
paint last week and since
then all my pages come
out green!

I used to be a yellow -
orange – red kinda person!

I don’t know what
happened but all of
a sudden I love this
colour so much.

Why analyse anyway…
I let go and make green pages!

A lot!
You are warned! ;)

Broken, repaired
and a little bit of blues…

Remember this?

..

It’s the unfinished page
I made for A Year in
the Life of an Art Journal
.

I wrote in this blogpost
how I struggled with the
prompt, and in the end
I left the page unfinished
and moved on…

… to come back to it
last weekend!
