Hi sweeties… are you enjoying Summer? We had a small heatwave in the Netherlands last week and that’s the reason I didn’t write a blogpost. In fact, I didn’t show up in my atelier at all! I spend time sitting in the shadow reading (for the Dutchies: the latest book by Connie Palmen – Jij zegt het, a fabulous book!) watching the annual bicycle race Tour de France on television and on Wednesday two old friends that I had not seen in years came to visit me. We had so much to talk about and so much fun that I totally forgot to take a picture of the three of us… but I hope to see them again soon (shall we, Moniek and Cécile?!) and I will try to remember to take photos then.
I have four weeks of Chronicles spreads in my archives that I haven’t shown yet so today I bring you week 25 – 28. Without further ado:
The Chronicles of Marit 2016 – Week 25
On June 20, one of my favorite writers Benoîte Groult died at the age of 96. I added a plastic pocket on the weekly spread which includes an article/interview with her. Underneath the pocket I wrote a quote that is visible when you take out the article…
The quote is in French (as Groult was a French writer) “Feminism is a beautiful peaceful movement, which aims at equality of rights for all, and who has never killed anyone, while macho violence kills every day.”
The Chronicles of Marit 2016 – Week 26
The Chronicles of Marit 2016 – Week 27
This week’s spread was inspired by a page that Michelle LaPoint-Rydell posted on her blog a while ago (I like her spread better though… find it in this post on her blog. She probably spend more time working on it and I like her use of colors more.)
The Chronicles of Marit 2016 – Week 28
Week thirty has started, my notes for week twenty-nine are on my desk so I can start working on that spread this week and show you later… However, I don’t know how much time I will have left this week to create. Tomorrow, my beloved will have surgery (Arteriostenosis) and I intend to spoil him a bit for the rest of the week 😉 I don’t know when my next blogpost will pop up here but until then: enjoy life. Talk a walk in the sun (that’s good for your veins!) and keep on rockin’ in the free world (that’s also good for your veins!)
