Goodmorning from grey and rainy Zeeland lovelies… how’s your week going? Mine was dipped in detergent and soapy water – it may or may not have been the Spring-cleaning itch, it was however necessary that I deep-cleaned the floors of the apartement and once you start… oh well, you know. There’s a lot still to be done (kitchen!) but I think I’ll procrastinate that task until real Spring arrives.
So this morning I stumbled into the atelier to see what was waiting for me there… and there’s a spread in my big art journal waiting for me to be finished – so now the itch is to get my hands dirty with paint!
Some of you said you were eager to see my Chronicle pages again – well, here are two spreads from the last weeks. It’s still odd to work in a journal this shape and size (journal = 20 x 20 cm – 7.9 x 7.9 inch so the spreads are 40 x 20 cm – 15.8 x 7.9 inch, for photos of this journal and the first pages, see this blogpost) I think the way I art journal in it is slightly different from the spreads I created in former years…

The Chronicles of Marit 2018 – Week 3
So, is it different from former Chronicles spreads do you think? And if so, what’s the difference? I have a sense of where these pages differ but I’m curious to hear what YOU think.
And now I’m off to dip my fingers in some paint – hope your day is colorful too.

Ah, the deep cleaning thing..you kind of just wake up in the mood and have to get it done! You deserve some painty time now, that’s the best trade off! I love to see the pile of journals you currently work in…the dimensions are interesting, do you find them confining or just about right, I wonder.

Totally been doing deep cleaning here too. Wiped out the computer room (office) and re did it all when my computer crashed, have to get in spaces to hook up and unhook and it was maddening. Today I did the kitchen ! Top of the refrig.was totally disgusting. Love you photos. Desk always neat and Week 3 colors are what I needed to see. Enjoy a great colorful week.

Lots of Marit art on display – brilliant! I never bother with Spring cleaning! I just do bits and pieces now and then to keep on top of things, which my husband calls a “half-assed” job LOL! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #7

I think there are changes that seem to come from doing some activity on a regular basis. You journals seem to have a lot more writing though everything is on a smaller scale. I still retains that element that is your style. I do not read what people write in their journals ever since my first encounters with art Journaling where everyone seemed to have depression or resentments. It may be cathartic to write it but it is not to read it. So now I look at it layout design, interest and art.
Have a great week

Thanks for sharing your weekly journal pages Marit, I had missed seeing them. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s different. More handwritten journaling and fewer illustrations? I am doing far more hand written journaling on my pages this year than last. I still haven’t started a weekly diary type journal though. Maybe next year lol. Have a good week. Sarah #18

Fabulous pages – love your bright and vibrant style. I never spring clean in spring, it usually gets done when the Christmas decorations come down and everything feels dusty – I love the feeling after it’s all done!
Have a great week,
