*** I teach a LIVE WORKSHOP in Middelburg on November 20th. ***
Good morning dear ones – another Wednesday, another ‘Workdesk-day’ and as you might expect, my work desk is pretty organized and clean (again!) this morning. There is a lot happening though… like a finished art journal page, a pile of journals waiting to be worked in and ATCs in the make. Have a look.
For the last ten years or so, I drank my morning coffee from an advertisement mug… the one you saw on my morning desk photos quite often. I received it from the man who repaired the roof from our shed in the former house, and the mug said “flat-roofs-dot-NL”… not a very inspiring text I agree, but I loved the size of that mug. My beloved always finds it crazy that I drink my coffee from one mug in the morning, and shift to drink from another (smaller) cup later in the day – it has to do with its size though: I need A LOT of coffee in the morning and I LOVE to have that special morning mug to start the day with. And yes, I’m fond of having rituals too!
Last week, while shopping, I came across a big sized mug that I fell for immediately… it was on sale (otherwise I would have find it too pricey for a mug) and it called my name. So I bought it, spend one day thinking what I want the mug to say and then prepared it for my morning ritual.
??
Yep – it was a plain, white mug and it came with a sheet with letters and signs that you can put on yourself… I decided on this quote that I like and that I think is quite uplifting to read in the morning
When I get tired of seeing this Neil Young song title on my mug in the morning, I can take off those letters and spell a new text but I think this one will last a long time, I LOVE IT!
A few weeks ago, I prepared/altered this book to work in and I cannot stop creating in this new, big journal. The finished spread on my work desk today is the fifth spread I made in this journal already but I haven’t shown the former pages yet, so here’s one older spread in my Grandes Chaleurs journal:
Looking for Meanings
Size: 30,5 x 49 cm (12 x 19 inch)
And some detail photos

It is funny how we all have little rituals … but that is what makes us uniquely human. Love the journal pages.

I love this journal page and the mug too 🙂 I have Neil Young’s Freedom in my car and this morning I played Keep on Rocking really loud so it was fun to come home and find the same song on your cup. So keep on rocking too, I love your art.

Awesome quote on the cup, Marit. I had to look up the song and I’m listening to it right now, bobbing my head up and down LOL! Amazing journal spread too. Love how he pours the paint out! What a great idea! Love all the scribbles in it too! I really enjoy that free and loose style! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #31

Yay for Morning Coffee Mugs! I also have a favourite mug, for my after breakfast coffee. It’s actually smaller than the ones I use during the rest of the day, as I can never finish a larger coffee early in the morning.
I sooo like your art journal pages, Marit. You should look out for an exhibition of artist books and enter some of your hand made art journals – I’m sure others would really enjoy them too.
Hope you have a happy and busy week.

Pretty mug! I love pretty mugs, and have a whole collection of different ones that I switch from. I take the one that speaks to me most in the morning, and then we spend the day together. 🙂
Love the journal pages too, so rich and cool!
