Sometimes, getting higher requires some effort…

… and sometimes,
without noticing you were even climbing,
you reach a peak from which you have a view you never knew
it lay waiting there for you to see all along.
..
All the creative work I did in the last Months seem to point in this direction.
Words from the Past
(Size: 35 x 25 cm - 13.8 x 9.8 inch)
Phrases from the past pass me by.
The words you once said
hang in the balance.
Jingling like shells in the wind.
Looking back, I can see how I came to this art piece and this way of working.
That’s what happens when you reach a top. You have an overview on
the path that lead you there.
I can choose the direction I want to go from here.
I’ve already captured a glimpse of the path that I want to explore next.
Carefully, I took the first steps on that new, creative journey…
Sand dunes
(Size: 25 x 35 cm - 9.8 x 13.8 inch)
I plan to walk this path further.
I will come across rocks.
I will surely stumble.
I might even retrace my steps,
but right now
this is the path I have to take.
This is the art I want to make.
So much is happening in my life
this is yet another turning point
they all seem to come at once
(What was there with ‘crossroads’ again?)
but I feel I’m heading in the right direction.
I’m still on that mountain top today though.
Feeling high. Lightheaded.
Only one sentence comes to mind.

Your haiku makes me want to see the view from the top. Glad you are still perched atop the world doing what you do with art. Hope your changes are tempered with peace, love and laughter in your heart.

I thought 47 steps was really good – it must be hard to write haikus in two languages and get the syllables right… I also liked your collages, especially the first one – great work!!

I love your post today, Marit. I’m still deciding which route to take. Your poems speak of the inside struggle and conquering spirit.

Your post today shows 47 steps and my own post featured a staircase, too. Such a powerful metaphor. I love your art work, Marit. Sounds like Spirit is revealing a lot to you now. A highly creative period.

Wow, this left me wondering which direction to go… inwards or upwards. You’ve helped me to embrace them both, and I thank you.
