Holding on to its tail

March 9, 2012 By Marit 31 Comments

Vuurtoren – Westkapelle

Schemering valt in

de vuurtoren twijfelt nog

mag het licht al aan?

Lighthouse – Westkapelle

Island at dusk, the

lighthouse seems to hesitate

may I flare up yet?

Written for ‘Haiku My Heart Friday’.
For more haiku and photos, visit Rebecca here at Recuerda mi Corazon.

What else happened last week…?

Well, most important thing – my Mojo almost flew out the window.
I could only just grab it by its tail and I hang on ever since.
Right up to this day, we are engaged in a fierce battle.
I win some, I loose some, but I keep holding on.

Here’s what I did to try and get its ass back inside: I made an ATC.

(Size: 6,35 x 8,89 cm – 2.5 x 3.5 inch)

By far not the best one I’ve ever made.
But at least I created something –
that’s one – nil for me.

I started a scrapbook layout (really, I did!)
I failed miserably and threw it away.

1 – 1 draw

I sank into the feeling that you might recognize (’cause I’m not the only one
feeling like this from time to time, am I?) The feeling that you don’t even want
to start something – anything. That feeling sucks all the energy out of you but
I did not give in.

I saw this article in the newspaper about a Tim Burton exhibition in Paris.
I only know the man but vague, he’s a movie producer right?
I didn’t know he drew…

Edward Scissorhands

I loved the hollow eyed figures so I got out my sketchbook and draw.

It’s just a bit of ‘fooling around’
Something like doodling.
Keeping my hands busy.
Practicing.
Holding on to that Mojo-tail.

Here are some detail shots:

What do you say,
am I on the winning side now?
I think so.
But let’s not cheer too early.
I’m still floundering on that tail,
pulling and pulling,
‘get back in here!’
I might succeed this weekend.
Keep your fingers crossed and
come back here after the weekend
to see who won.

Keep on breathing dear ones
keep on breathing…

    Hoi Marit

He’s a director (Edward Scissorhands being one of his movies… pretty much almost everything with Johnny Depp in it, you can almost guarantee he’s the director! lol!! He’s also married to Helena Bonham Carter… she was in the Harry Potter movies) …. I didn’t knew he drew either… but it makes sense with all he movies his does! lol!! I loveeeeee the drawings you did and loving the sentiment on the ATC!!! And that photo of the lighthouse is GORGEOUS!!! My Dad loves lighthouses… I just wish we had them here so I could take photos of them and make him lo’s or cards… or whatev with the photos!! Have a great weekend!!

Marit ~ yes we all go through our ‘mused’ needing a rest ~ let it be ~ doodle, create ATCs ~ anything ‘playful’ ~ then you will get back to what you do ~ (at least that is what I read about creating and what I do) love your sketches ~ and haiku is great ~ let your ‘light’ shine ~thanks, namaste, carol (A Creative Harbor)

I’d say there is no win or loose, let go of the tail and jump on your mojo’s back Marit, and go for the ride of your life! You are a beacon of light, shining far and wide!

It’s wonderful that you’re creating…and able to throw away what doesn’t work for you. When I start working again after my winter respite, I always make some things that don’t work – at first. Love your haiku about the lighthouse – they are magical, no?

the light house stands in wait always hoping for the moment to release its light once again! your creative muse is just as vital surging within you. if there is a moment when you cannot feel the current…go outside under the great heaven of verve and drink in the beauty around you. take a playful moment and simply drink in the abundance of creativity that sings in all things. sometimes when we “think” we cannot connect we simply need to be filled back up!

Gorgeous light house photo Marit- and you are always on the winning side. Accept all your moments and moods as the right ones for that time. Remember you can change them if you decide to. I think it’s true about mind over matter. Your drawings are wonderful to look at. Gee- let’s see- haiku friday- perhaps for me on saturday??
