Goodmorning and Congratulations to Julia, with this 400 woyww post. Wowzah… that’s 400 weeks of desk-photos, that’s 400 times nosing around in other-one’s studios, kitchens, living rooms and other spaces where creative people put their desk or table to work on. I am ‘in’ since February 2013 (woyww #193) and although I didn’t post EVERY week, I must have published almost 200 photos of my desk myself… some archive of desk photos I have!
Today, my desk looks quite different than what you are used to: it’s full of stuff!
I am working on some (yes, more than one) new art journals that gets collage on the cover. For that, I took out all the magazine pictures, old postcards, magazines and clippings that I could find and it looks like this:
Not only WOYWW celebrates an anniversary, my dad did too last weekend! It was his birthday and since he likes to draw and sketch I made him a sketch book.
Giving him this sketch book was also in my own interest because my dad has a car and I have not…. my parents like to take their camper and drive to a nice spot when the weather is good. My mum sits and reads or writes while my dad sketches the scenery… and hey, I like to go with them and do the same! So making him this book increases my chances to go on nice little day trips with them when the weather gets better 🙂
While thinking out the way this book should look and how I should bind it, the idea came to me to add elastic bands so the sketch book could carry a pencil… it turned out great don’t you think?
So now I want such a sketch book myself too (or, as they say in Zeeland: “Moek-ok-hè”)
I hope you all have a great week.
Create someting,
anything.
Bind a book.
Make a collage.
Be happy.
Gorgeous sketchbook and fab idea to use the elastic… and I very much like the full desk too. dxxx#20
Happy 400th WOYWW. So much happening on your desk. That sketch book is fabulous. We have a camper van and it is great for day trips (or longer). Ali x #5 currently!

The sketchbook looks like a great idea for a present and I like your ulterior motive, LOL! Loving the collage pieces on your desk as well!
Bet your dad liked that, know I would. Happy birthday to him. I am wondering what date it was as I had a birthday last week too. Have a great woyww and a happy crafty week, Angela x 23
It was last Sunday, January 29, Angela

Adding loops for the pencil is a great idea!! Tracy #31
Top advice, and I will create something. But be warned, it will involve mess! I’m in awe of your method of working, even with loads on your desk, it’s all still very calm and controlled. I love the sketch book made for your Papa, and that you get to have the odd day out with them both. My dear Papa died last summer and these days in quiet togetherness are very very much missed, I hope you can go on a lot of trips!
Happy WOYWDW
