When I ate my lunch last week, sitting at our big dinner table, I stared at the books in my bookcase and a poem started to develop from the titles. Some of you may remember I posted quite some book title haiku photos in 2012 and 2013 (see the complete series in this album.) The poem I found in my bookcase is not a haiku this time, but I still submit it to Haiku My Heart today. I think they will forgive me this escapade to a longer poem…

Rebecca; hostess of the Haiku circle; also started a series on her blog called “Twelve days of mother love” – also called “Twelve days of Mary love”. It’s about posting about the virgin Mary and that is not really in my line. However, Rebecca is not that strict when it comes to ‘rules’, hence her explanation: “Today marks the first day of December beginning twelve days of Mary love. everyone is invited. while this is not about religion, it is about sharing, opening hearts, rejoicing in ultimate mother love.”

So, OK.. mother love – I had to think of a photo of me and my son right away.
This was back in 1994, when Nout was two years old.
Isn’t that the sweetest picture?!

Goodmorning y’all… today is the day that the complete Top 2000 list for 2014 will be announced (between 4 an 6 pm CET, in the radio program “Wout2day.”) The list will probably be online tomorrow morning and I will put a link on my blog in the side menu as soon as it’s there***. From that moment on you can start creating for the Creative & Musical Blog Party – a great activity to fill the weekend with isn’t it?!

***The Top 2000 list for 2014 is now published online HERE

As you know, each Friday was ‘Found Poetry Friday” on my blog…

I started this series in July 2013 but lately there aren’t much people playing along (besides Carla – a faithfull follower who submitted a found poem almost every week!) So I decided to not continue this series… I will of course keep on ‘finding’ poetry and publish it on my blog, but not on a regular base anymore.

I want to thank everyone who played along ~ especially Carla ~
To close the series: here is a poem I found by scrolling through the Top 2000 list from last year.

Beautiful People

Come Together

Listen To The Music

Eight Days A Week

Happy Together

(Melanie, Beatles, The Doobie Brothers, Beatles, The Turtles)

I would love it if you join me and leave me a songtitle poem in a comment… to close this series.

Last but not least: I created quite some Art Journal pages over the last weeks that I did not publish on my blog yet… Here’s two. (More to come next week.)

The Chronicles of Marit – Week 46

I am especially fond of ‘found poetry’, and I mean found in all its forms… found in book titles, found in magazines, on book pages, cut out words and sentences – you name it.
I therefore started FOUND POETRY FRIDAY – everyone is welcome to play along!

There is an “Inlinkz”-list at the end of this post. If you want to share your found poems, you are welcome to add your name to the list that will link us to your blogpost.

You can post your found poem on your own blog any time during the week, so you don’t have to make YOUR Fridays all about poetry – you just link us to the post that contains your poem. Please use the url that goes directly to you ‘found poetry post.’

Here’s my found poem for today.

I found the poem first by combining sentences from my stash of cut-out sentences. While the poem grew, I remembered an article in an old magazine about an American photographer Lois Greenfield who pictures dancers. It took me a while, but I found the magazine and the photo I was looking for – and it all came together on a background of spray ink and paint (stamped with bubble wrap to create ‘bubbles’)

Today I wanna share a found poem by Carla Persoon. Carla is a creative woman who shares my love for found poetry, and she participates almost weekly in my blogseries… On the page I show she combined different song lyrics to form a new poem… with the Top 2000 Musical Blog Series getting near, I thought I’d share this page to get you ‘into the groove’ already!

Here’s my poem on an art journal page.

When I looked through my stash of cut-out sentences, the words “Your Eyes!” spoke to me… I went from there to finish the poem. After I’d composed my poem, I flipped through fashion magazines looking for a face that has big eyes. I created the background with old newspaper-pages and glued the image on. I blended the image nicely into the background with gesso, leaving only the eye visible.

The page layed on my desk like that for a couple of weeks, until I received a surprise package with bister from Elvy. After testing the bister (and getting excited, what a wonderful stuff!) I knew what to do with this page… I sprayed some water and sprinkled blue and green bister on it and I’m happy with how it turned out!

Surfing the Internet last week I bumped upon this altered page by pat-75 (on indulgy.com)
Isn’t this breathtaking?

The next poem is found by me early October. I published a photo showing just the cut out words laying on my desk (see this blogpost) and here’s the art journal page I made with the poem.

I used oil crayons and a bit of scraping. Very simple – but it made a beautiful page.
