Good morning everyone! I’m here again to participate in WOYWW, the weekly Wednesday blog hop hosted by Julia Dunnit! My desk today shows all kinds of projects… I am working on several things and I must sort out the images & materials for the different tasks – I am beginning to notice that things get mixed up in my head when I don’t organize my projects. I’ll tell you about the different projects in a moment. First, take a look at my desk
So… what different projects are there?
- Daily Drawings: I am keeping up with making a quick sketch with Roxanne Coble’s prompts every day. My latest drawings are in the Monday’s post.
- Chronicles art journal: I created the background for week 14. The paper with the notes for that week is on top of the spread.
- Folded booklet: that’s not on the photo, but the cut out images laying on my desk (there’s some with the ‘water’ too) are possible materials to use in the booklet.
- Atlas and scales: yesterday afternoon I found out a student of mine turns 65 today (happy birthday Marie!) and I had just enough time to make a birthday card. I folded an envelope from an atlas-page and weighted the mail to see how many postal stamps it needed. I then rushed out the door to post the envelope before diner.
Talking about my Chronicles art journal: I haven’t shown my spreads for a few weeks so here are some pages (remember the orange page I was working on in memory of the soccer player Johan Cruijff? That’s week 12)
The Chronicles of Marit 2016 – Week 11
The Chronicles of Marit 2016 – Week 12
The bold, white text is a quote from Johan Cruijff. In the Netherlands he was not only a famous soccer player but he was also well-known for his use strange use of words and weird phrases. In translation the quote says something like “The highest task of the human knowledge is to understand that he can not understand.”
And that’s it for today’s post… I’m off to link my post to the ‘woyww-link-list’ and visit the other participant’s blogposts. Do you want to join woyww? It’s pretty easy and a lot of fun: everyone just takes a photo of one’s work space and blog about it and then link it to Julia’s blog. Julia has the rules and regulations posted on her blog here if you would like to hop along with us.

How come you have so much stuff on your desk (loved looking) and yet it seems tidy? Very clever of you to label each item like you do – I would not have a clue where to start doing that.
Loving your Chronicles!
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me whilst I was out.

Lovely pages you have done as always. Of course (being Dutch) I love the Johan Cruyff pages and the quote.
Thanks for your visit and your kind comment,
Happy WOYWW,
Lisca

Your desk looks so organised, and you sound like you have a lot of projects on the go. I love the pages you’ve done, and that’s a lovely tribute to your soccer player (not something I know anything at all about)!
Hope you have a good week and thank you for stopping by my desk earlier,

Marit, I love your collages and art work. The soccer player sounds a very interesting person. Today is a hard day to post anything as it is overcast and gloomy, unusual here in central texas. Also the cat is attention seeking as i ” I need more food so I can have a mouthful and leave it for my overweight sister!”
have a good week

You know, I threw away some of those atlases last year? I don’t know what possessed me – I’m kicking myself now! Love your two new pages – the colours in the first one are awesome and I really like the bold, white lettering in the second and how you placed the photo right in the corner without leaving a gap! Thank you for your lovely message earlier! Wishing you a fantastic week! zsuzsa #32

Hej Maritime, long time no see! I haven’t been in Blog land for almost five months – no idea where the time went – when I logged in yesterday, to make my post, I was rather stunned to discover my last post had been at the end of November!
Anyway, here I am and I came to see what interesting things were on your desk. I always love to see your tidy, organised, beautifully labelled desk photo – soooo different to mine! And I love that you make such colourful, eclectic projects – especially the books.
The journal pages are – as always – so gorgeous and filled with colour and detail. The footballer tribute page is great. I love the way you have used the quotation. Orange and white – of course!
A map-envelope sounds great. I must try that!
Good to see what you have shared. Hope you are well and happily busy.

So sorry Marit, my autocorrect sneakily altered your name!! I have updated the dictionary now, so that Marit is A Word! X
Marit says
That’s so sweet of you Lizzie… “Maritime” is a nice word too, and my name has something to do with that, but I indeed prefer “Marit”

HI Marit, love the way you label your desk, do you use a computer programme for it? I could never do that with my desk, just too much stuff on it. or too little.
That page in honour of Johan Cruijff reminds me of birthday card I made for my Brother in Law in Holland and he was a great fan of Cruijff. I managed to get all the right colours for his team strip and he changed teams about two days before Aat’s birthday.
Thanks for visiting my page and I recommend making time to visiti Scotland, it is very beautiful.

Yep Chris, I use photoshop to add the labels to my photos. I don’t label every little pencil or paperscrap (for example, there’s a tiny little doll in the window sill, “Zelda”, that doesn’t have a label) but I try to point out the essentials on the photo.
