Hello my dear desk-friends, I’m back after a two-week break from desk-blogging on Wednesday… Weeks in which I visited the hospital quite a bit because my mom had surgery and lay there for almost a week (she’s recovering at home now and doing well, thanks) and my beloved, who has difficulties walking… there’s something wrong with his foot and tests were necessary. (No outcome yet, keep your fingers crossed it is something ‘simple’ and surgery won’t be necessary… I cannot see any hospital anymore by now!)
With these things going on I found it not fair to post a photo of my desk while I knew I would not have time to go visit back the other deskers. It seems, however, that I will have some spare time in the next couple of days to do just so, so I jump in the ‘game’ again today: here’s my desk (click on the photo to enlarge)
The flags in front of my window are there just for today because I found out that it is my “neighbor” Hans’ birthday. Hans lives a couple of apartments away in the same apartment-building as I do, but since this flat is build with a turn, he can see my atelier-window when he looks out of his window. I thought it would be nice to ‘wave to him’ with these flags: happy birthday Hans!
My desk looks pretty clean but there are some unfinished pages that lay waiting for me at the left. Here’s a better picture.
It seems like ages since Woyww celebrated its anniversary but there are still some ATCs that I received later and have not yet shown.
This ATC came all the way from Canada. Lynne send it to me and included some wonderful extra pieces of paper and book pages in the envelop, just the type of stuff I love to use in my art journals. Thank you so much Lynne!
I had an ‘extra’ super swap with my American friend Linda (rnrgrrl on facebook) and we created five ATCs for each other. I posted the ones I created before (in this post) and here are the ones I received from Linda.
Linda knows how I love (creating to) music – she does too and she’s a participant in my annual December event ‘Top 2000 party’ from the very first year (2009.) She created these ATCs with songs in mind – from left to right: Phoenix – Dan Fogelberg, Witchy Woman – Eagles, Song to the Siren – Tim Buckley, The End – The Doors, Free Bird – Lynyrd Skynyrd.
She also send me some stamps…
… and I fell in love with these right away! I’m a fan of ‘free design stamps’ and these are just perfect for art journaling, thank you Linda!!!
I hung Linda’s ATCs on my ‘inspiration wall’ and maybe you find it nice to see photos of these ‘walls’ too… they’re not really walls, but the doors of my big closets that are left and right from the door that leads to the living room. Here’s the closet doors on the left (plenty of room left here to hang some more stuff)
And here’s the “wall” on the right…
I hope you liked today’s look at my work desk and into my atelier…
have a great week y’all.
Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World!

happy to hear you Mum is improving and hope hubby is soon OK. No fun being sick. I spent more time than I like with hubby at clinics, one for a cut arm and the other tests. All is OK. Worst part of the test was fasting 48 hours. Makes a man a bear!
I am going through a”head freeze ” no ideas. love your room and the way you have the doors as an art board.
have a great week

Heel leuk om rond te kijken! Maar ehh…heb je niet meer verf en potloden en krijtjes?? Waar bewaar je dat?
Bedankt voor de rondleiding

Well of course Marieke, I do have a lot more materials in the atelier. I will take some extra photos next time to show you where (and how) I keep that all stored.
Natúúrlijk heb ik een hoop meer materialen en gereedschappen in het atelier Marieke – ik zal binnenkort wat extra foto’s maken van waar (en hoe) ik dat dan allemaal bewaar.

You’re back! Great. I’m glad your mum is out of hospital and doing OK.
Thanks for showing me around your atelier. I loved seeing what is on the back of the cupboard.
Linda’s ATC are absolutely brilliant, especially as they are about songs in the top 2000.
The free design stamps are fab. I can see you use those a lot.
Thanks for visiting,
Happy WOYWW,

Hi Marit, the “inspiration wall” is a great idea. You desk looks all organised for the next crafting session. My favourite today has to be those stamps they are just the sort I would choose and look forward to seeing how you use them. Oh, I’m sorry you’ve been in and out of hospital recently…you must be glad to see the back of them! I do love your workspace, it’s so welcoming..but my favourite thing by far, is the big cuddly woman jar (?). That made me laugh as it’s a remarkably similar shape to me, lol!!

The ‘big lady’ is a doll in Zeeland’s costume Jan, my friend made it for me a few years ago. Her name is ‘Kee’ (the dolls name I mean, not my friend’s 🙂 )
