Friday haiku: Hollyhock

October 15, 2021 By Marit 4 Comments

Friday haiku

een late stokroos
doet nog een poging om de
zon vast te houden
a late hollyhock
makes another attempt to
hold onto the sun

oh how i love this hollyhock and her deepest desire to hold on to the felting warmth of summer!!! we have had early frost this year and in two nights our summer garden became a withered dream. our kitchen is a treasure-trove of a rushed last harvest. so yes-dear hollyhock i feel your attempt to hold on to that sweet warmth and light!

Oh, may that hollyhock be successful in its attempt to grab and hold the sun!

This is fabulous Marit! I love hollyhocks, they grow in my garden, but they will never be the same after today and your haiku and Lena’s photo!
