I have been working my ass off last week on FEATURING magazine.
We had a delay with ill writers and contributors and we do our very best to get the last articles for issue 4 done – so this week was all about writing articles. And deliberating with the designer. And emailing contributors. And viewing photos and art. So much to do to get issue #4 ready for the printer’s… it will probably take a few weeks more but we’re getting there – sure, we will get there!
In the meantime – for you who have not heard of the magazine or seen/read the former issues – FEATURING is a printed magazine that is sold/shipped all over the world. FEATURING brings an interesting mix of art, crafts, artists and interviews with each issue. All former issues can be previewed HERE and purchased in the webshop.
No art journal pages today, but I have two ATCs to show.
ATCs are just perfect to make when you have little time or when your mind is full with other things and you have trouble concentrating. These are made from gelatin monotypes. I have a stack of monotype ‘background pages’ that are not to my satisfaction as a whole but, cut in pieces, show marvelous details.
TIP: Cut an ATC sized ‘frame’ from a piece of cardboard and move it over the page where you want to cut the ATC from (a painted background, a ‘failure’ art journal page, a magazine page or whatever.) This ATC-frame-template will help you to find the nicest parts that you can cut as an ATC.
Add doodles, lines, stamps, words etc. to finish the ATC.
Tammy “Daisy Yellow” Garcia started a mission to spread love via blogging this month. I like her campaign to give virtual hugs to our fellow creative bloggers – so I happily commit to posting a set of 5 or more links once a week for the month of April.
You can read all about the Link Love {a mission} HERE
Today is the last Friday of the month – that means the ‘Link Love Mission’ comes to an end… but I will of course keep on linking every now and then to fellow bloggers and blogposts that caught my eye.
Here’s the links I LOVE this week:
Gotta link you up to this blogpost from Michelle LaPoint Rydell – I am a huge fan of her way of journaling!
A hilarious blogpost from Tracy Fletcher King: Things To Worry About (I wish those were the things that keep me awake at night… my worries are not far as fun.)
A few weeks ago, I discovered Aimee from Artsyville and I joined her Glue it Tuesday posts. So much fun!! (Oh, and the girl can doodle like no other!)
iHanna. I have to mention and link you with LOVE to Hanna… she is one of my fave bloggers and can you believe she celebrated her NINE YEARS OF BLOGGING last week?! Wowzah, that’s freakin’ amazing!
Last link today is for Irma “Miss Marple”… I love this girls’ mixed media art piece!
Now go – hop to those blogs and spread the love.
I hope your weekend is filled with love and laughter too.
