Goodmorning lovelies, and goodmorning to my long-time-no-see Haiku friends! How are y’all doing? Remember me?
It’s been over a year since I submitted a haiku to Haiku my Heart – the group that I used to join every Friday. A lot happened in the meantime. The best thing? Four months ago my beloved and I moved to a lovely apartment in the centre of Middelburg (Zeeland – The Netherlands.) I still wake up with a smile every day! (You can see and read about the beautiful place I live now in this blogpost A tourist walk.
One of the attractive things that comes with living here is the many birds that surrounds us: there are high squealing swifts in the air (I counted 15 the other day,) pigeons and seagulls, blackbirds ‘singing in the dead of night’, a woodpecker in the big oak and jackdaws… a lot of jackdaws.
I wrote a haiku about those jackdaws and once again, I join the tribe that Rececca brings together on her blog every Friday:
Gesuis van vleugels bijeenkomst op de daken het kauwencongres |
high whirring of wings a meeting on the rooftops Jackdaws Congress |
Now that we settled in this new apartment (and my atelier is up and runnin’) I hope to write haiku more and join in the Haiku-group more often from now on. Thanks for your visit, have a nice weekend!

I can’t think of a better meeting place for jackdaws than on a rooftop. The sound carries far and wide from that height! 🙂

Happy to see you again, and the jackdaws too. We always seem to return to Rebecca, dont we, after a long absence.

Oh it is such a treat to find you here Marit! I was just thinking of you the other day as I was perusing some art-blog spots and saw that you had been interviewed on one! I am so happy for you and your beloved that you are loving where you are living. My love to you both and the birds that fill your air! XO

Those are a lot of Jackdaws. They deserved a full haiku of their own. Well done.
