Sunrise and vacant land

March 20, 2020 By Marit 11 Comments

There’s only one thing on our minds these days… I sit at home and don’t have much to say. Still, I wrote a haiku

Friday haiku

Wakker geworden.
De zon zien opkomen in
een stille wereld.
Woke up this morning
and saw the sun rise. It shone
on a silent world.

The photo was taken by my friend Lena Schreijenberg

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart

and I finished this art journal spread.

“The world came to a stop. Vacant land is holding its breath, plows through thoughts and waits for better times.”

Stay safe!

Dear Marit, how grateful I am to visit you here today. I receive your words, Lena’s photo, and your journal with all my heart. In this silence… may we find solace, healing, and compassion. And may we find the way back to the healing power of this Earth. I send you a hug my dear friend and feel, in my body, our times together and in cyberspace with all my heart.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the world is quieter than usual. Beautiful sunrise. Love your haiku.

It is amazing how quiet the world seems right now. Yet life goes on.

With all the drama, the hype, brouhaha, maybe our world could benefit from being silent for once.

Even in trying times, the sun still rises. Love still stitches us together.
