Time flies and wohwee, it is again Wednesday! Time for “Tales from the Studio.”

Wanna know what’s going on in my crafty space?
Wanna see what’s on my workdesk this morning?
I invite you to come on in and look around…

Enjoy!

First, I have a golden oldie layout for you –  lifted from one of my scrapbook albums.

I don’t create ‘traditional scrapbook layouts’ anymore but I find it fun to dive into my albums and lift a ‘golden oldie.’ Which layout I come up with is random – blogreaders name the number and this time the request came from Winnie. She asked me to open album 6 and show Layout #5

I found a layout with a story!

Rock ‘n Roll is an Attitude…

This layout is made in June 2009 and shows ‘my men.’ Actually, it is the second layout I made with the photo/title/theme… I did not like the first one and started over. I found both layouts next to each other in the album. Here’s a picture of both:

You can read the complete background story in THIS OLD BLOGPOST

When you visited my desk last week, you must have seen the Box I was altering,
to store my index card-collages in.

Well, here’s the finished Box of Longing

… and here’s three more collages I made last week for Glue it Tuesday

The Desert Is In Constant Motion

New Dimensions In Time

Everything. Everywhere.

Last but not least… my workdesk!
There’s a lot going on here… I usually clean up one thing before I start working on another, but I was focussed on making the cover for the ‘writing over writers’ journal and did not even notice what was laying around. Ha… that must be a sign I’m starting to get used to my studio and desk.

WOYWW #200

What’s On Your Workdesk. Wednesday is hosted by our pretty headmistress Julia.
Each Wednesday, artists hop all over the world to view desks in all shapes… clean ones and messy ones… it’s fun! Find the list of participants at the WOYWW headquarters at Stamping Ground

(Oh, and all that knitting is done in the evenings in front of the telly – to keep my hands busy and avoid smoking… Yes sweeties, I’m ‘clean’ for over two weeks now! It is also getting easier every day, thank god – otherwise I would end up with a zillion knitted slippers 😉 )

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
hope to visit as much desks as possible today, so see you around!

Good morning, good morning – it’s Wednesday and you know what that means: Tales from the Studio! Yep, I’ll show you what’s going on in my crafty space (new work!) and I also have a ‘golden oldie’ layout for you – lifted at a blogreader’s requests – from one of my scrapbook albums. (As most of you know, I don’t scrapbook anymore – I’m more of a mixed media art journaler nowadays.)

Well – here we go, come on in sweeties…

Sue (MiniOwner) asked me to open album 6 and show Layout #21… and when I did that, this was what I found:

Walcherse Dracht

This layout is made in November 2009 and shows me (photo on the left) in the traditional “Zeeuws Costume”. You can read more – and see detail photos – about this layout ánd the ‘background story’ in THIS OLD POST

And here is something new I want to show…
Erm… it does not look that new at first – it is an old, rusty, metal index card box I got from my dad a few years ago. It stood in the closet all those years. Sometimes I took it out, wondering what I should do with it. A few weeks ago I put it on my desk to have it near. I stared at it from time to time and suddenly I knew!

I decided to call it the Box of Longing and to make little collages on the indexcards inside.

Some of you will remember my Letters from the Wasteland  and I wanted to do something similar with the index cards in the box. Here are the first, small collages I made.

To The Ends Of The Earth

The Simple Truth

New Worlds To Discover

I submit these little collages to Glue it Tuesday – a new blogseries that Aimee from Artsyville started. If you don’t know Aimee, check out her blog! She’s a huge inspiration for all creative souls!

Now that I decided what I wanted to use the index card box for, it was about time to alter it.
How does a ‘Box of Longing’ look like? Hmmm… the first ‘altering round’ can be seen on my work desk this morning. It’s not done by any means, but the box looks better already compared to the old, rusty metal look it had. There’s more ‘waiting until it is dry’ on my desk this morning ’cause yesterday I was so clever to prepare some so I would find it all dry and ready to continue working on this morning.
