<p>I always try to translate the haiku into English without losing the atmosphere of the poem and keeping the right number of syllables. And there are times when the English version/haiku comes to mind first. Sometimes I even like the English version better. Not in this case though&#8230; the Dutch version speaks to me more because of the internal rhyme. However, writing and translating a haiku is a good training to improve both my mother language (Dutch) as well as English.</p>
<p>I submit today&#8217;s haiku to <em>Recuerda Mi Corazon</em> where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share haiku on this Friday event <a href="http://corazon.typepad.com/recuerda_mi_corazon/2018/09/haiku-my-heart-1.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Haiku my Heart</strong></a>.</p>
