<p>Wednesday&#8230; WOYWW day&#8230; and I owe all woyww-participants an apology &#8211; I did not visit one of your blogs last week! I planned to blog-hop but the weather got very nice during the week, warm even and because of that temperatures raise real high in the office space. There are more &#8216;machines&#8217; in that room and it gets really hot as they all work like little heaters! So I turned off my computer as soon as the necessarily work was done. I know a lot of you woyww-hoppers are from the UK &#8211; and you must have had the same weather on your isle &#8211; so I hope you understand and forgive me. I try to do better this week &#8211; I promise!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the Wednesday <strong>golden oldie</strong> scrapbook layout – lifted from one of my old scrapbook albums.</p>
<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="wp-image-10867 aligncenter" title="albums" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg" width="300" height="255" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg 852w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p>(I don&#8217;t create &#8216;traditional scrapbook layouts&#8217; anymore but every Wednesday I dive into my albums and lift a &#8216;golden oldie.&#8217; The layouts I pick are random, YOU &#8211; blog readers &#8211; name the number of the album and layout to show. <strong>Let me know in a comment which album you want me to open next week &#8211; find the list to choose &#8216;golden oldies&#8217; from <a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/?page_id=10661" target="_blank">here</a>)</strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;">NOTE:</span> I have been doing this for a while now and I notice that the risk that you name layouts that have already been requested is high&#8230; therefore I made<a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/?page_id=10661" target="_blank"> a list</a> showing the &#8216;free&#8217; numbers and the ones that have been requested/shown already.</p>
<p>This week’s request came from <em><strong>Margaret</strong></em> &#8211; from <a href="http://artycraftystuff.webeden.co.uk/" target="_blank">Glitter &amp; Glue</a><br />
Ali asked me to open album 3 and show layout #5</p>
<p>Here it is&#8230; <strong>BFFs </strong>{click on the image to enlarge}<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/BFFs.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14140" alt="BFFs" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/BFFs.jpg" width="937" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/BFFs.jpg 937w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/BFFs-300x160.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 937px) 100vw, 937px" /></a></p>
<pre></pre>
<p>This is me with my BFF <strong>Lena</strong>. We are friends since primary school so that is indeed &#8216;forever&#8217; 😉<br />
I think this photo was taken in 2005 (is that correct Lena?) and the layout must be created somewhere around 2007&#8230; I never dated my layouts and kinda regret that now! And EEECKKK&#8230; we&#8217;re both smoking there! Lena quit a long time ago (when?) and as you might remember, I stopped smoking last March (and &#8211; although I still miss smoking A LOT &#8211; I concider myself a non-smoker now.)</p>
<p>Anyway, Lena is a talented painter and her work can be viewed on her blog  <a href="http://sixliliesstudio.com/" target="_blank">Six Lilies Studio</a><br />
(I tell ya &#8211; it&#8217;s worth a visit!)</p>
<p>Because of the heat ánd the &#8220;Tour de France&#8221; (I am watching the report of this big bicycle race on TV every afternoon) I didn&#8217;t spend much time in the studio last week, but here are my latest index cards. (submitting to <a href="http://daisyyellowart.com/icad/" target="_blank">ICAD</a> and <a href="http://artsyville.blogspot.nl/2013/07/glue-it-tuesday-week-17.html" target="_blank">Glue it Tuesday</a>.)</p>
<p><strong>Good morning.<br />
</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/39-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14158" alt="39-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/39-longing.jpg" width="727" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/39-longing.jpg 727w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/39-longing-300x206.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Good night.</strong><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/40-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14159" alt="40-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/40-longing.jpg" width="727" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/40-longing.jpg 727w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/40-longing-300x206.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how my desk looks like this morning&#8230; SUMMER INDEED!</p>
<p><a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.nl/2013/07/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-214.html" target="_blank"><strong>WOYWW #214</strong></a></p>
<p>The WOYWW headquarters can be found over at <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank">The Stamping Ground</a> from where the lovely lady Julia hosts the biggest weekly blog hop. Thanks Julia.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/woyww214.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14137" alt="woyww#214" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/woyww214.jpg" width="900" height="675" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/woyww214.jpg 900w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/woyww214-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>Bright sunshine through the window shining on my little table (as a result, the big desk in the corner behind this table is standing in deep, dark shadow and invisible on the picture)</p>
<p>There&#8217;s not much going on here, but I want you to have a better look on the art that <strong>Jana</strong> from <a href="http://tangledpen.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Tangled Pen</a> send me.</p>
<p>For the WOYWW 4th anniversary swap I made some extra ATCs and Jana emailed me that she would love to swap my little card with work of hers. She told me it would take her a while before she would &#8216;answer&#8217; my ATC but I didn&#8217;t mind that, and last weekend I received an envelope from Sweden. It was worth while the wait!!!</p>
<p>Jana is also creating on index card &#8211; she send this one to me.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-card.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14138" alt="jana-card" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-card.jpg" width="500" height="691" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-card.jpg 500w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-card-217x300.jpg 217w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a></p>
<p>If you know Jana, you know that she is a talented painter and I especially admire the way she paints birds! Jana knows I have blackbirds in my garden who wake me in the morning, singing in the pergola beneath my bedroom window, so she painted this blackbird for me. Isn&#8217;t that the most sweet and precious painting?</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-painting.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14139" alt="jana-painting" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-painting.jpg" width="500" height="725" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-painting.jpg 500w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/jana-painting-206x300.jpg 206w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a></p>
<p>Thank you so much Jana!</p>
<p>The blackbirds (and jackdaws, we have a lot of those lads visiting our garden too!) had their beaks wide open from the heat over the last days but today it cooled down a bit. Just enough to call it a nice Summer day. A bearable one &#8211; yay!!! Hope you all have a great day too!</p>

<p>Is it Wednesday already?<br />
OK then, time for &#8220;Tales from the Studio.&#8221;</p>
<p>Wanna know what&#8217;s going on in my crafty space?<br />
Wanna see what&#8217;s on my workdesk this morning?<br />
Come on in to my studio and enjoy!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s start with looking at a <strong>golden oldie</strong> layout – lifted from one of my old scrapbook albums.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-10867" title="albums" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg" width="300" height="255" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg 852w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p>(I don&#8217;t create &#8216;traditional scrapbook layouts&#8217; anymore but every Wednesday I dive into my albums and lift a &#8216;golden oldie.&#8217; The layouts I pick are random, YOU &#8211; blogreaders &#8211; name the number of the album and layout to show.)</p>
<p>The request came from <a href="http://www.hickydorums.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank">Neet</a> who asked me to open album 7 and show Layout #7</p>
<p>Aaahhh&#8230; look at that!<br />
Meet James!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/james.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12737" title="james" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/james.jpg" width="800" height="793" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/james.jpg 800w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/james-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/james-300x297.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>You can really call this lay0ut an &#8216;oldie&#8217; &#8211; I made it long before I started blogging and never showed it online. James was my pet. He came live with me in 1989, when he was only 4 weeks old. His mother had died short after giving birth and actually the kittens were too young to survive without her, but I wanted to try keep James alive and fed him with a pipette&#8230; He grew up to be a big, tranquil cat. He moved houses with me four times in sixteen years. Then a strange type of crust appeared on his nose&#8230; it turned out to be an incurable type of cancer and in April 2006 I had to let James put down to sleep. I do hope he is at the happy hunting-grounds &#8211; laying in the sun like he loved to do when he was alive.</p>
<p>Next, I have pages to show for <a href="http://artsyville.blogspot.nl/2013/04/glue-it-tuesday-week-4.html" target="_blank"><strong>Glue it Tuesday</strong></a>.<br />
Week 4 of Glue it Tuesday, hosted by the lovely Aimee of Artsyville. If you like to cut and paste something &#8211; anything&#8230; come on over and play along.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m in this week!<br />
Not with &#8216;box of longing&#8217; collages on index cards today. This time I made pages in my <a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/?p=3447" target="_blank">grid journal</a>. Does someone remember that journal? Anyway, I have this stack of mono types backgrounds that show gorgeous details, so I cut squares and made two pages.</p>
<p><strong>Purple Haze</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid01-monotypes.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12746" title="grid01-monotypes" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid01-monotypes.jpg" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid01-monotypes.jpg 800w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid01-monotypes-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid01-monotypes-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Yellow Submarine</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid02-monotypes.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12747" title="grid02-monotypes" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid02-monotypes.jpg" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid02-monotypes.jpg 800w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid02-monotypes-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/grid02-monotypes-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>I may have to work on them some more, especially the yellow page seems to be missing something (shadows? contours?)</p>
<p>Speaking of collages&#8230; I received this wonderful happy mail from <a href="http://daisyyellowart.com/" target="_blank">Tammy Garcia</a> yesterday including one of her famous little collages.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/tammy-mail.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12750" title="tammy-mail" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/tammy-mail.jpg" width="800" height="599" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/tammy-mail.jpg 800w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/tammy-mail-300x224.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>And yes&#8230; it &#8216;blew&#8230;&#8217;<br />
In fact, it blew my mind!</p>
<p>Thank you so much Tammy!<br />
Something happy is coming your way too 🙂</p>
<p>Last, as usual, I show you a photo of my desk.<br />
I visited my parents last weekend and my mom had cleaned her studio (she&#8217;s a poet and writer of children&#8217;s books &#8211; find her website <a href="http://www.johannakruit.nl/johanna_fr.html?midden=/" target="_blank">HERE</a>.) She had a bunch of empty books and notebooks that she wanted to get rid off, and guess who took them home? HAhaa!</p>
<p>The books are still on my desk but that&#8217;s about all there is. Oh, and that one spread that still lays there from last week&#8230; I didn&#8217;t play in my studio since Saturday. So I zoomed out a bit to give you a wider look at the desk&#8230; there&#8217;s a lot going on on the side that I normally don&#8217;t photograph. So now you know what&#8217;s there 😉</p>
<p><a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.nl/2013/04/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-201.html" target="_blank">WOYWW #201</a></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/woyww201-origineel.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12751" title="woyww#201-origineel" alt="" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/woyww201-origineel.jpg" width="900" height="675" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/woyww201-origineel.jpg 900w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/woyww201-origineel-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>The quirky abbreviation woyww stands for <strong>W</strong>hat&#8217;s <strong>O</strong>n <strong>Y</strong>our<strong> W</strong>orkdesk <strong>W</strong>ednesday. Every Wednesday, crafters from all over the world take a photo of their desk &#8216;as is&#8217; and show it on their blogs. We then all gather and line up at Stamping Ground &#8211; where our host Julia keeps an eye on us.</p>
<p>Now I hope to find time to visit a lot of you woyww-ers today. The list is loooonggg, but I try to visit as many desks as possible.</p>
<p>See ya!</p>

<p>Time flies and wohwee, it is again Wednesday! Time for &#8220;Tales from the Studio.&#8221;</p>
<p>Wanna know what&#8217;s going on in my crafty space?<br />
Wanna see what&#8217;s on my workdesk this morning?<br />
I invite you to come on in and look around&#8230;</p>
<p>Enjoy!</p>
<p>First, I have a <strong>golden oldie</strong> layout for you –  lifted from one of my scrapbook albums.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-10867" title="albums" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="255" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg 852w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p>I don&#8217;t create &#8216;traditional scrapbook layouts&#8217; anymore but I find it fun to dive into my albums and lift a &#8216;golden oldie.&#8217; Which layout I come up with is random &#8211; blogreaders name the number and this time the request came from <a href="http://www.winniesinkyfingers.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank">Winnie</a>. She asked me to open album 6 and show Layout #5</p>
<p>I found a layout with a story!</p>
<p><strong>Rock &#8216;n Roll is an Attitude&#8230;</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06_attitude_01.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12562" title="06_attitude_01" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06_attitude_01.jpg" alt="" width="994" height="1000" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06_attitude_01.jpg 994w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06_attitude_01-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06_attitude_01-298x300.jpg 298w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 994px) 100vw, 994px" /></a></p>
<p>This layout is made in June 2009 and shows &#8216;my men.&#8217; Actually, it is the second layout I made with the photo/title/theme&#8230; I did not like the first one and started over. I found both layouts next to each other in the album. Here&#8217;s a picture of both:</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/03_attitude_layouts.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12565" title="03_attitude_layouts" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/03_attitude_layouts.jpg" alt="" width="1000" height="504" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/03_attitude_layouts.jpg 1000w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/03_attitude_layouts-300x151.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></a></p>
<p>You can read the complete background story in <a href="http://www.maritspaperworld.com/old-blog/?p=3766" target="_blank">THIS OLD BLOGPOST</a></p>
<p>When you visited my desk last week, you must have seen the Box I was altering,<br />
to store my index card-collages in.</p>
<p>Well, here&#8217;s the finished <strong>Box of Longing </strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/00-box-of-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12573" title="00-box-of-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/00-box-of-longing.jpg" alt="" width="583" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/00-box-of-longing.jpg 583w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/00-box-of-longing-300x257.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 583px) 100vw, 583px" /></a></p>
<p>&#8230; and here&#8217;s three more collages I made last week for <a href="http://artsyville.blogspot.nl/2013/04/glue-it-tuesday-week-3.html" target="_blank"><strong>Glue it Tuesday</strong></a></p>
<p><strong>The Desert Is In Constant Motion</strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/04-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12568" title="04-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/04-longing.jpg" alt="" width="723" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/04-longing.jpg 723w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/04-longing-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></strong></p>
<p><strong>New Dimensions In Time</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/05-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12569" title="05-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/05-longing.jpg" alt="" width="723" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/05-longing.jpg 723w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/05-longing-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Everything. Everywhere.</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12570" title="06-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06-longing.jpg" alt="" width="723" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06-longing.jpg 723w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/06-longing-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></p>
<p>Last but not least&#8230; my workdesk!<br />
There&#8217;s a lot going on here&#8230; I usually clean up one thing before I start working on another, but I was focussed on making the cover for the &#8216;writing over writers&#8217; journal and did not even notice what was laying around. Ha&#8230; that must be a sign I&#8217;m starting to get used to my studio and desk.</p>
<p><strong>WOYWW #200</strong></p>
<p><strong>W</strong>hat&#8217;s <strong>O</strong>n <strong>Y</strong>our <strong>W</strong>orkdesk. <strong>W</strong>ednesday is hosted by our pretty headmistress Julia.<br />
Each Wednesday, artists hop all over the world to view desks in all shapes&#8230; clean ones and messy ones&#8230; it&#8217;s fun! Find the list of participants at the WOYWW headquarters at <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.nl/2013/04/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-200.html" target="_blank">Stamping Ground</a></p>

<p>(Oh, and all that knitting is done in the evenings in front of the telly &#8211; to keep my hands busy and avoid smoking&#8230; Yes sweeties, I&#8217;m &#8216;clean&#8217; for over two weeks now! It is also getting easier every day, thank god &#8211; otherwise I would end up with a zillion knitted slippers 😉 )</p>
<p>Thanks for stopping by my blog today.<br />
hope to visit as much desks as possible today, so see you around!</p>

<p>Good morning, good morning &#8211; it&#8217;s Wednesday and you know what that means: Tales from the Studio! Yep, I&#8217;ll show you what&#8217;s going on in my crafty space (new work!) and I also have a &#8216;golden oldie&#8217; layout for you &#8211; lifted at a blogreader&#8217;s requests &#8211; from one of my scrapbook albums. (As most of you know, I don&#8217;t scrapbook anymore &#8211; I&#8217;m more of a mixed media art journaler nowadays.)</p>
<p>Well &#8211; here we go, come on in sweeties&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-10867" title="albums" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="255" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/albums.jpg 852w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p>Sue (<a href="http://miniowner.blogspot.co.uk//" target="_blank">MiniOwner</a>) asked me to open album 6 and show Layout #21&#8230; and when I did that, this was what I found:</p>
<p><strong>Walcherse Dracht</strong><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/lotus150-walcheren.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12449" title="lotus150-walcheren" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/lotus150-walcheren.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="900" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/lotus150-walcheren.jpg 900w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/lotus150-walcheren-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/lotus150-walcheren-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>This layout is made in November 2009 and shows me (photo on the left) in the traditional &#8220;Zeeuws Costume&#8221;. You can read more &#8211; and see detail photos &#8211; about this layout ánd the &#8216;background story&#8217; in <a href="http://www.maritspaperworld.com/old-blog/?p=5881" target="_blank">THIS OLD POST</a></p>
<p>And here is something new I want to show&#8230;<br />
Erm&#8230; it does not look that new at first &#8211; it is an old, rusty, metal index card box I got from my dad a few years ago. It stood in the closet all those years. Sometimes I took it out, wondering what I should do with it. A few weeks ago I put it on my desk to have it near. I stared at it from time to time and suddenly I knew!</p>
<p>I decided to call it the <strong>Box of Longing </strong>and to make little collages on the indexcards inside.<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/longing-box.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12456" title="longing-box" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/longing-box.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="492" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/longing-box.jpg 900w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/longing-box-300x164.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>Some of you will remember my <em><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/?page_id=6221" target="_blank">Letters from the Wasteland</a>  </em>and I wanted to do something similar with the index cards in the box. Here are the first, small collages I made.</p>
<p><strong>To The Ends Of The Earth</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/01-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12440" title="01-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/01-longing.jpg" alt="" width="723" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/01-longing.jpg 723w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/01-longing-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>The Simple Truth</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/02-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12441" title="02-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/02-longing.jpg" alt="" width="723" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/02-longing.jpg 723w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/02-longing-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>New Worlds To Discover</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/03-longing.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12442" title="03-longing" src="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/03-longing.jpg" alt="" width="723" height="500" srcset="https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/03-longing.jpg 723w, https://www.maritspaperworld.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/03-longing-300x207.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></p>
<p>I submit these little collages to <a href="http://artsyville.blogspot.nl/2013/03/glue-it-tuesday-week-2.html" target="_blank">Glue it Tuesday</a> &#8211; a new blogseries that Aimee from <a href="http://artsyville.blogspot.nl/" target="_blank">Artsyville</a> started. If you don&#8217;t know Aimee, check out her blog! She&#8217;s a huge inspiration for all creative souls!</p>
<p>Now that I decided what I wanted to use the index card box for, it was about time to alter it.<br />
How does a &#8216;Box of Longing&#8217; look like? Hmmm&#8230; the first &#8216;altering round&#8217; can be seen on my work desk this morning. It&#8217;s not done by any means, but the box looks better already compared to the old, rusty metal look it had. There&#8217;s more &#8216;waiting until it is dry&#8217; on my desk this morning &#8217;cause yesterday I was so clever to prepare some so I would find it all dry and ready to continue working on this morning.</p>
<p><a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.nl/2013/03/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-199.html" target="_blank"><strong>WOYWW #199</strong></a></p>

<p><strong>..</strong></p>
<p>That&#8217;s it for today dear ones. I&#8217;m off to visit some of the other work desks now.<br />
Happy Wednesday!</p>
