Goodmorning beautiful ones, how are you today? It’s Friday, the day that I post a haiku on my blog but while I was reading some of my old blogposts last week, I decided to expand my “Friday-haiku-blogposts” to be similar to the ones I used to write on Fridays: talking (and showing) a little bit of this and that. The photo (usually made by my friend Lena) and haiku will stay of course, but there will be some extra rambling, art, links and anything I can think of.

Ever since Facebook took a flight, lots of online friends closed their blogs and moved their attention to Facebook and/or Instagram, but I am still devoted to this blog of mine and won’t give up writing blogposts. However, I noticed that this ‘social media world’ and the changes has it’s effect on me too… I don’t write those long(er) and funnier blogposts anymore because nobody comments and that makes me feel like nobody’s reading. I am wrong about that because the statistics of my blog point out the number of “unique visitors” is still 150 – 200 per day… so HEY YOU! I know you are here and reading (you just don’t comment anymore… is that so? Let me check… if you are still visiting my blog and reading this, let me know and say “Hi” in the comments!)

So OK then… I will make my Friday blogposts a bit longer from now on, and more interesting (I hope) and as promised: the haiku is still part of my Friday ritual.

I submit this haiku to Recuerda Mi Corazon where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share a haiku on Friday: Haiku my Heart.

Last October, a friend of mine – who is a textile artist – and I agreed on starting a project together. The plan is that I create ‘something’ on paper, send it to her and inspired by it, she will make something ‘textile.’ I started creating right after I got home but failed horribly… the pressure to make ‘something worthwile’ got to me and nothing of what I created seemed good enough. So I put the whole project aside for a while.

Last week, I got back to it and started working on several pieces at once. That helped me to get into a ‘flow’ and I am well on my way now… here’s one piece that I won’t send to her (it’s too explicit) but it is still a lovely spread.

Everything in it’s own place

The images on this piece are clippings from a tourist magazine from Middelburg, the town I live in, and show places I live nearby. I still am so very happy we got the change to move to the centre of this town last April!

For those who are curious to see what this little town looks like… I found a nice – English spoken – tourist-walk-video on youtube made by young couple… it was published two years ago but everything is still the same around here. Wanna go for a walk? Sit back, relax, watch and listen

I hope you enjoyed my Friday-blogpost-new-style… have a nice weekend!
