From Christmas to New Year, the Radio 2 team presents the 2000 favorite songs of the listeners. Music! 24 hours a day! In 2009 I started my ‘top 2000 blog party’ in the slipstream of the top 2000. I created art every day inspired by a song from the list. Everyone was invited to play along and create to the music – and I posted all the submissions on my blog. What success it was! Even the top 2000 people picked up my ‘party’ and came to film me back in 2011.

The Top 2000 list with the fave songs from the listeners is being composed this week and that is where today’s blogpost comes in!

Vote for your fave songs from November 29 – December 6

I made a ‘tutorial’ for all my English-speaking fellow-artists who want to play along… the fun starts right here as you can now vote for your favorite songs to get in the list! The highest ranked 2000 songs will be played on the radio/Internet in the last week of 2024.

The voting site is pretty simple to use so even if you don’t speak/read Dutch you can easily go through it. Still, I made screendumps for you if you need help, so you can look at the images below to see how it works – then go to the TOP 2000 VOTING WEBSITE and find your fave songs to vote on.

Voting closes at 4 pm CET on Friday, December 6

You can start submitting your art-with-the-songs for the blogparty as soon as the ‘official list’ is announced and online. There will be a form that you can use to submit your art – the Top 2000 list will be linked to that form so you can easily find/submit the song that you worked with. The form will be online the moment the list is announced.

Vote for your fave songs from December 1 – December 7

I made a ‘tutorial’ for all my English-speaking fellow-artists who want to play along… the fun starts right here as you can now vote for your favorite songs to get in the list! The highest ranked 2000 songs will be played on the radio/Internet in the last week of 2017.

The voting site changed a bit this year and is made easier – so even if you don’t speak/read Dutch you can easily go through it. Anyhow, I made screendumps for you if you need help, so you can look at the images below to see how it works – then go to the TOP 2000 VOTING WEBSITE and find your fave songs to vote on.

Vote a minimum of 5 songs and a maximum of 35… you can choose songs from the list but also add artists and songs that are not on the list…

When you click that you want to add a new song/artist, you get the following window

When you reach the minimum of 5, the bottom button turns read – meaning that you can go to the next step if you like. (but you can of course go on selecting songs untill you reach the maximum of 35 songs.)

Step 2 shows your list, you can motivate your choices if you like

Step 3: you need to fill out some date… the * fields are required.

This next page is a survey, you can skip this page

The last page shows your voting list. You can share it on Facebook and/or Twitter if you like.
Click ‘save and finish’ at the bottom and you’re done.

You don’t have to confirm any emails anymore… you will receive an email that shows your list and contains a link so that you can see/share your list online.

Voting closes on Friday, December 7
