Come on in sweeties – my studio door is open!
Welcome – it is a bit dark in here because it is a grey day, but I will turn on the lights.
See? Much better.
Now I will I open the closet where my old scrapbook-albums are stored.
I asked you – my blog readers – to name a number / album and layout in this post.
Maja60 from Scrappyscrappydoo asked me to take out album 6 and show layout 15#
Well, hello there!
Does anyone remember the challenge blog Lotus Paperie? This blog retired in 2010.
I was a design team member during 2009 and the October challenge in that year was
“add colour to your handwritten journaling.”
It is an apropriate layout to show on a grey day – shiny and bright!
I remember my mom gave me a bunch of photos showing her and my dad on vacation in France. I used those photos to make a rather ‘graphical’ and ‘clean’ layout. It was a lot of work to make this though, as the lines are hand-stitched with embroidery floss. When a layout is ‘simple’ like this, you have to make sure every line, every stitch is in its right place. See the vertical lines ending at the bottom of the layout? The lines on the left stick out two stitches, the third line has three stitches and the line most right has four stitches sticking out. This accentuates the position of the ‘block’. It’s little details like that, that “make or break” a clean layout like this one.

When I went upstairs with the photo camera this morning, to take a picture of my work desk, I found it like I left it on Monday. I haven’t been there all day yesterday (as they say ‘life got in the way’ – or, in my case – a dentist appointment and some other ‘stuff’ that needed to be done first) Anyway, there’s all kinds of half-finished pages laying on my desk.
I will finish my ‘Chronicle spread’ today for sure (Oh, and there was a question about that last week: yes, I do publish the finished pages on my blog in detail. Mostly in a Friday-post.)
Now if you are like me and love a peek into other artist’s studio’s to see what’s on their work desk, go hop on over to Julia’s blog Stamping Ground to find the long list of participants showing what is on their desk today. I find it inspiring just to look at what others are working on.
I wish you all an inspiring week!

Beautiful Layout Marit. What a fun idea to take a look at layouts that are filed safely away. I did a bit of that myself today too. It is amazing how your layouts record trends in the world of crafting and scrapbooking. WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 120

Hi Marit, love your scrap page and can appreciate all the work that went into stitching the grid – so much so, I wouldn’t tackle it myself. Great photo of your desk – I appreciate the way you label the items too. Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment earlier. Have a great WOYWW. Elizabeth x #104

HAHA yes, I remember Lotus!! We were friends way before that even. I have to try to figure out when we became friends!! 2008 maybe? 2007? Somewhere like that right? It really is fun to look back!!! My albums are still in a box from moving. They will be put in a closet Carl is making. It has been 2 years but I hope he will finally do it already!!!
I have to go look at your NY post before this one!!
