Another Wednesday, another Tale from the Studio – and of course I show you my desk.
To start with, the golden oldie layout – lifted from one of my old scrapbook albums.
(I don’t create ‘traditional scrapbook layouts’ anymore but every Wednesday I dive into my albums and lift a ‘golden oldie.’ The layouts I pick are random, YOU – blogreaders – name the number of the album and layout to show. Let me know in a comment which album you want me to open next week and what layout I should show… )
There was no request this week, so I decided to take today’s date and opened album 5 to show layout #1.
When All The Laughter Dies In Sorrow
This is a rather ‘heavy’ layout, but it is dear to me.
You can read the poem and see details of this layout in this old post HERE.
Yesterday was a special day for The Netherlands. After 33 years on the throne, Queen Beatrix signed the abdication deed and her son, Willem-Alexander has become the first king of the Netherlands since 1890, following the abdication of his mother.
Here’s the news and a photo gallery on CNN website
I watched the ceremony on television but I also visited one of the many flea markets that were in the city, and found myself some ‘treasures’ for a bargain! One of my finds is an Atlas, which I used to make collages later that afternoon.
The collages are made on index cards that go in my Box of Longing and I submit them to Aimee’s Glue it Tuesday at Artsyville.

Of course I end this post with showing you my workdesk for What’s On Your Work desk Wednesday. Here’s how I found my desk this morning…
Do you like sneaking into other’s studios and peek at other artist’s work desks? Then I recommend you hop on over to Julia’s blog, where you find this week’s list with links to other work desks around the world.
And that’s it for today sweeties.
See you again soon.

Hi Marit – thanks for visiting my blog via WOYWW – have been watching the news from the abdication in wonder… as in wonder why the british queen doesnt do the same and enjoy the time she has left with her husband… ours is not to question why I guess. Look forward to seeing more of your wonderful work… Mxx

Glad to see I’m not the only one who has prepped backgrounds that hang around for a while until they speak to me….

Hi
Thanks for popping in to see me at mine………. I understand that Iris Folding came from the great Dutch teachers, also Teabag Folding. When I made my first ones we used the insides of envelopes and I continue to do that today.

Woyww is a cute idea! My desk is always messing nowadays. I like the idea of using an index card for collages – need to try that! {:-D

Congrats on your new king…I think Queen/Princess Beatrix is very classy to step aside for her son … with no royalty here in the U.S. I did enjoy all of the photos you posted in the link!
I ♥ atlases and maps … you used your new pages so well dear Marit!

What an incredibly powerful page Marit…if we don’t remember we are doomed. Since I’ve been in class all week, I didn’t realize you had a new King…seems like this is quite a milestone in your country. Does one say congratulations? Love the fun little items you managed to pick up…so wish we had decent flea markets here….we have garage sales and frankly driving from one house to another just doesn’t strike me as much fun! Happy creating.
