Hi Marit! Am super impressed that you’ve attacked the canvas and am quite sure that it’s just the size that’s intimidating, as soon as you can get your head around that, you’ll be off and I anticipate layers and texture aplenty! It’s wonderful that you and so many of your Dutch readers speak and write such good, accomplished English; I’m not surprised by your decision, we English are not good at second languages!

It’s very kind of your Dutch followers to allow you to write here in English. Some years ago we used to meet up with some Dutch friends who’s English was so good in fact all the people in the hotel where we stayed spoke English and I do feel that this has not done us any favours. It’s wonderful that there is one language that people can communicate with but I think it has made us (British) very lazy when it comes to learning languages. My dear friends tried to teach us Dutch but with little success, we tried but maybe didn’t see enough of them. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x9x

Why a great way to get over the white canvas hurdle. I look forward to seeing your progress. I guess we all like to read in our own language but, I think most blog readers know where the translate button is. It is a wonderful skill to be bilingual . Great journal pages. Happy WOYWW . Angel #1

Well I’m very glad you do blog still on a Wednesday because i get so much inspiration from you! I laughed when I saw what you did to that white canvas, I know exactly how you felt – most times I cover a canvas or paper with a background colour before starting, it just seems less daunting!

A great way to start a blank canvas – it will be interesting to add to it and see how it grows over the weeks. The journal pages are great, and so imaginative.

I always thought easels were set up to keep adding to, that’s why paintings take so long to complete.

Ah lovely to see you here! Your Chronicles always speak to me and as I am now doing daily journaling I might have to branch out from scribbled words to more graphically interesting pages. Well done on YOUR scribble on the canvas. It makes all the difference, doesn’t it, in how you approach it. They don’t call it “Fear of the White Page” for nothing. Good luck and be sure to share your progress!!
