The book by Coetzee is titled ‘Disgrace’ in English, but that has not quite the same ‘deepness’ as the Dutch title – where the extra word ‘in’ was added. Also, when I would translate the title of the bottom book accurately, it would just says “Clear Sky”. However, when these words are used in Dutch, one automatically thinks of a certain verb/phrase (Als een donderslag bij heldere hemel ~ “Like a bolt from the blue.”)

I like the references and double meanings that words sometime have, but it makes it impossible to translate (let alone translate with the right amount of syllables!) See how much words I need already to explain the rather short poem? Oh well, believe me when I say the Dutch version of my book title haiku evokes a story that the English readers might not get this time.

If you love haiku, Friday is the day for you ’cause you can find haiku all over the Internet. You don’t even have to seek for it yourself. Our lovely hostess Rebecca gathers all haiku lovers on her blog Recuerda Mi Corazon. Just hop on over to find the list of participants there. Each name hides a blogpost where you can find a haiku… isn’t that a great way to start the weekend?

I still have not showed you all the ‘stuff’ I made during my blogbreak.
