For the ones among you that did not read that post, here&#8217;s a picture of the box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00-box-of-longing1.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12617\" title=\"00-box-of-longing\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00-box-of-longing1.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00-box-of-longing1.jpg 649w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00-box-of-longing1-300x231.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 649px) 100vw, 649px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/inspirationeverywhere.blogspot.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michelle<\/a> commented that she found the box fabulous (thanks dear \ud83d\ude42 ) and she said: &#8220;<em>Would love to know more about how you altered it \u2013 are the words painted on? How did you get that beautiful texture?<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So I made a few extra photos yesterday and here are the answers.<\/p>\n<p>I used mod podge to glue tissue paper on the metal box. The tissue paper was soaked in mod podge. Using my fingers, I covered the box with the paper and created the folds. While the tissue paper was still wet with the glue, I sprayed ink on it. (&#8220;Dylusions&#8221; spray ink and &#8220;Ranger Color Wash&#8221; &#8211; if I remember correctly the colors were blue, yellow, green, denim, bottle green&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/texture-box.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12618\" title=\"texture-box\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/texture-box.jpg\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/texture-box.jpg 667w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/texture-box-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was a mess, yes, but the outcome texture is indeed fabulous!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a picture of the title on top of the box &#8211; that Michelle is referring to when she asks about the words.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00c-box-of-longing.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12614\" title=\"00c-box-of-longing\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00c-box-of-longing.jpg\" width=\"623\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00c-box-of-longing.jpg 623w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/00c-box-of-longing-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 623px) 100vw, 623px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I searched for sticker alpha&#8217;s and stamps to make the title, but couldn&#8217;t find letters that were to my satisfaction &#8211; so I decided to hand carve stamps for the title myself and stamp them with acrylic paint. The &#8216;shadows&#8217; were made with a\u00a0 Copic marker.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/handcarved-stamps.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12615\" title=\"handcarved-stamps\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/handcarved-stamps.jpg\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/handcarved-stamps.jpg 667w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/handcarved-stamps-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I figured that after using these for the box, I could cut the letters loose and use them in other projects too.
