I look totally cross-eyed after a week writing and typing articles so you won’t
\nfind much text in this blogpost. There will be no free weekend for me either –
\nthe deadline for delivering the articles was pushed forward (is that the right
\nway to say it?) and I will have to work through the weekend to get everything
\ndone on time.<\/p>\n

But right now, the work for today is done and I’m looking forward to have
\na relaxed evening. My beloved already bought me a bag of chips; he knows
\nI love Friday nights, curled on the couch\u00a0 watching ‘The X-factor’.<\/p>\n

You will understand that I don’t have as much work to show you as
\nlast week, but I have some – enjoy!<\/p>\n

The new prompt at A Year in the Life of an Art Journal<\/a> is online!<\/p>\n

As you know, the blog offers a three part promp every fortnight,
\nincluding a theme, a technique and a song.
\nYou can take any or all the parts as a springboard for a journal page
\nin any way you choose. It’s all up to you, we just want you to join in!!<\/p>\n

This prompt comes from Glenda<\/a>, and she wrote: “Ok, you all know
\nmy total obsession with the Goo Goo Dolls so I’m sure you weren’t
\nsurprised by the song choice right??”<\/em><\/p>\n

THE PROMPT: Love
\nTHE SONG: Not Broken by the Goo Goo Dolls
\nPRODUCT\/TECHNIQUE: Silhouettes<\/p>\n

Haaa… No, I wasn’t surprised! I knew that Glenda would pick a song
\nfrom her fave band! When I looked at the lyrics, there were so many
\nbeautiful lines that I found it hard to choose!
\nEventually I choose to work with the line: ‘…and scroll the words
\nupon your wall remind you to believe’.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I used a Hambly overlay that I had in my stash for years. At that time,
\neveryone seemed to use transparencies and I didn’t want to stay behind.
\nTurned out that I just can’t work with the stuff. Even on this page, you can
\nhardly see that I used an overlay. I never know what to do with those things.
\nI suck at transparencies. Period. The wall-pattern was the exact right pattern
\nto use on this page though, and I thought it would also be an easy way to
\nget rid of the Hambly sheet that I kept coming across every time I looked
\nthrough my paper stash. I cut out the silhouette of a ‘broken man’ and used
\nblack Stazon to ink it on the sheet. The silhouette has a ‘shadow’ effect to it,
\nwhich I like. I doodled the borders with my Copic markers.<\/p>\n

Remember the ‘wristies’ that Rosie send me?
\n(I wrote about it – and showed a photo – in this post<\/a>)<\/p>\n

I made Rosie a thank-you card, and since she received it last week I can
\nshow you what I send her.<\/p>\n

I forgot to take a photo of the back of the envelope, but Rosie made photos
\nof the card as well as the envelope on both sides. You find it in this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s Friday afternoon, almost 4.30 p.m. and I find that I deserve a glass of wine
\nafter a hard day’s work! I hope your weekend is relaxing and creative!
\nThe weather forecast in Holland predicts a sunny and warm day tomorrow
\n(23 degrees, which is 73.5 Fahrenheit) so Dutchies: have fun!<\/p>\n
