I’ve made the deadline for Creatief met Foto’s<\/a> ,
\nI wrote 17 articles (60 pages!) in twenty days and today
\nwas my first day off.
\nYEAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!<\/p>\n

Guess what I did \ud83d\ude00
\nI spend the afternoon creating!
\nI worked in four different journals at once.
\nNone of the pages is finished yet, but I have something else for you.<\/p>\n

It’s the 15th, so today is a new A Year in the Life of an Art Journal<\/a> prompt<\/p>\n

\nPRODUCT\/TECHNIQUE<\/strong>: Speech bubbles<\/p>\n

I hardly ever use speech bubbles, and it sounded like fun so that was my main
\ninspiration for this page. When I saw this photo in a magazine (a just-married
\ncouple of gay-guys\u00a0 – yes, homosexuals can marry in the Netherlands) I knew
\nthat I would use my favorite stamp-guys-heads with the funny pose and suits
\nthey’re wearing. I cut out the figures, gave them new heads and it was only
\nafter I’d done that, that I looked at the lyrics to see if I could use any of the
\nwords. I was happily surprised that the lyrics contained a perfect sentence.
\nSometimes everything falls into place!<\/p>\n

And I have another ‘Really?!’ to show you…<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, Mary Beth<\/a> had a give-away on her blog.<\/p>\n

The prize was a beautiful piece of art, made by her.
\nShe also wrote “We better hope that my hubby doesn’t read this post
\ncause he really likes this piece<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

I was delighted when I found out that I won.
\nBut I was really speechless when it arrived and I opened the box.
\nReally?! Is this what I won? Oh my goodness, it’s fabulous!<\/p>\n

Because Mary Beth was at Art Fest at the time, her hubby had mailed it off.
\nInside the box I found a nice, little note from him, that said that he was
\nsad to see this piece go but: ‘That’s what happens when your wife is an artist:
\nthe most beautiful pieces leave the house – but since she’s an artist, she can
\nmake another one for me.’ (or words of similar import) and that he was glad
\nto send it to a loving home.\u00a0 The note made me smile!<\/p>\n

My beloved is as much in love with this art piece as I am.
\nI put it on our side-table opposite the couch.
\nIt’s there for two days now.<\/p>\n

And you know what’s weird?
\nIt becomes more beautiful every time we look at it!
\nWe both are touched by it, and it’s as if this feeling grows.
\nIsn’t it amazing, that art can do that?<\/p>\n
