We are both fan of these adventure games.

I started (re-)playing the Zelda games this year. My son is 23 years old and lives on his own now, but when he heard I was playing again he planned a visit to come play ‘Zelda’ with me.

And now the fun story: I bought a tiny, little plastic ‘Zelda doll’ and a chocolate ‘surprise egg’. I carefully removed the foil package and cut open the egg. I replaced the little toy in the egg for the little Zelda doll, and ‘glued’ the egg together with chocolate. I put the foil around it and it looked just like new…
When Nout came to visit I poured him tea and gave him the egg… with a neutral face saying: for old times sake, we bought you an egg just like you were young….

He, of course, ate the chocolate but wasn’t much interested in the toy… but he finally opened the plastic container just out of curiosity and couldn’t believe his eyes when he found the Zelda doll… “How did that get in there…????”

It’s my favorite moment from April!

The drawings are all made on old book paper that I gessoed.
