I visited the hospital this morning.
\nMy periodontist gave me a referral because she noticed that my under lip is
\na bit thick and there’s a small, white spot on my under lip. It’s been there for
\nover 10 years so I didn’t worry much, but she insisted I would let a surgeon
\nhave a look at it.<\/p>\n
The surgeon, a young and handsome guy, read the referral letter.
\nHe looked at my lip.
\nHe said something to me and then suddenly,
\nin the middle of a sentence he said:
\n“do you do that a lot ma’am”
\n“Huh????”
\n“You just bite your lip”
\n“Did I…?”<\/p>\n
He laughed, examined the spot once again and you know what it is?
\nI have callouses on my lip. No kidding!
\nI spend years, quietly biting my lip!<\/p>\n
He even took a few photos of it, to use in a lecture.
\nThe advice he gave: ‘Don’t bite your lip and it will go away eventually’.<\/p>\n
Yeah, right. That’s easier said then done.
\nHow do I break this habit?<\/p>\n
I don’t wear lipstick very often, but when I came home I put a lot of lipstick on.
\nMaybe that will help to remind me not to bite my lip?<\/p>\n
I might become famous as ‘the lipstick lady’…. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n
Any other ideas to overcome this habit?
