Goodmorning lovely ones and THANK YOU for all the compliments you left on my last blog post about the altered jacket. I just saw I inspired Jan (Lunch Lady Jan<\/a>) and she’s diving into the Sashiko embroidery techniques too… you go girl!!!<\/p>\n

I put aside the jeans jacket I plan to Sashiko-embroider-alter to start a ‘small project’ in between and you can see it on my desk today. Here’s the photo of my desk first…<\/p>\n

“A crocheted box?”<\/p>\n

Let me explain: the handyman came last week and boy ‘did he handy’…. he secured the closet to the wall in my atelier, hung the whiteboard (I’ll give you the grand tour of my finished atelier in another blogpost), he put shelves up in the storage\/washing room, hung the blinds in front of the window and hung all the lamps… yay!!! Oh, and he hung a shelf to the wall in the bathroom to store the toilet rolls stock… and that’s where my crochet project comes in. Putting a big stack of toilet rolls packed in plastic on that shelf looks hideous! So I went into town to buy a nice box to store the rolls. Did I tell you I’m no good at measuring things? Well, I’m not good at that… It happened before and it happened again… I got the size of the shelf\/box all wrong and the box I bought was waaaay too big to go on that shelf.<\/p>\n

I made a new plan: I bought lovely blue cotton thread and crocheted a ‘basket’ that I will stiff with glue (I looked it up on the internet and I hope it will work!) The gessoed cardboard will be painted blue and goes on the bottom. I will try to remember to take pics for you and show you next time how it works out (keep your fingers crossed!)<\/p>\n

Despite all those ‘extra projects and house stuff’, I keep the Chronicles Art Journal going. Here’s two spreads for you that I created in the weeks I was working on my son’s jacket and these pages were highly influenced by that.<\/p>\n

I discovered ‘Sashiko’ and ordered fabric and yarn to work with in week 24, so this spread got a Japanese feel to it.<\/p>\n
