Open fence<br \/>\ninvites us to walk further<br \/>\nfrom here to somewhere<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>I always try to translate the haiku into English without losing the atmosphere of the poem and keeping the right number of syllables. And there are times when the English version\/haiku comes to mind first. Sometimes I even like the English version better. Not in this case though&#8230; the Dutch version speaks to me more because of the internal rhyme. However, writing and translating a haiku is a good training to improve both my mother language (Dutch) as well as English.<\/p>\n<p>I submit today&#8217;s haiku to <em>Recuerda Mi Corazon<\/em> where our lovely hostess Rebecca brings us all together to share haiku on this Friday event <a href=\"http:\/\/corazon.typepad.com\/recuerda_mi_corazon\/2018\/09\/haiku-my-heart-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Haiku my Heart<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Het hek staat open en we lopen door het gras van hier naar ergens Green fields.
