Goodmorning sweeties, another Wednesday and I’m here to show what’s on my desk today. It’s not the regular desk in my atelier that I took a photo from this morning… this is the coffee table in the living room that shows the new project I started yesterday…<\/p>\n

Yep, that’s crochet… and how come I started\u00a0 crocheting again?<\/p>\n

That’s a bit of a story….. you probably know we moved houses last Spring and the new home still isn’t totally ‘finished’ and decorated. The apartment we live in now is way smaller than our former houses and for example, our big couch did not fit in the new living room. (I gave it away to a former neighbor and we sit on old chairs until we find a new couch we like.)\u00a0 We also have all of our books still in boxes stored at my parents… the book case does not fit the living room either – so you see it was\/is quite a challenge to make a plan and re-arrange things in the new home. Luckely, the book case could be taken apart. We put a small part in the living room that contains ‘music’ (my beloved has a lot of elpee’s) and a big part is in my atelier (you can see that here)<\/a><\/p>\n

So what about all the books? We thought it over during the Summer and came to the conclusion that we have to get rid of a lots of books. We have a rather big bedroom and there’s space to put up a book case there – not as big as we were used to but we can keep some of our most loved books then. So last week we went to Ikea and bought two of those famous ‘Billy’ book cases… together with a smaller book case that came from the former atelier, it fills up a corner in the bedroom. And now the big task of going through the book titles will begin soon.<\/p>\n

Overseeing the bedroom – with the soon to fill book case corner and all – I thought it would be nice to make a bed spread as a finishing touch so that’s the reason I started crocheting. Not a hippie-granny-square blanket this time. That’s nice for the guest beds but not something we want in our own bedroom. I googled and found a crocheted cushion and a tutorial on this blog:\u00a0 LINDEVROUW’s WEB<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both my beloved and I liked the ‘woven’ pattern so I bought a lot of acrylic wool and started crocheting. The bed cover will be 2 x 2 meters and I crochet bigger squares to keep the balance.<\/p>\n

This blogpost is getting rather long… so let me stop talking and start showing the two art journal spreads I created in my ‘Junk journal’.<\/p>\n
