Goodmorning sweeties… you came to take a peek at my desk? There’s not much to see today… I took a quick photo of this art journal spread I just started – it’s only paint and two images that I *might* (or might not) use…<\/p>\n

… instead of taking you with me into the atelier, I thought you might like to come take a walk with me again through my town. It’s been a while since I showed you around (May<\/a> and June<\/a>)\u00a0 If you don’t have the time now, that’s no problem. You just go do what you have to do and skip the walk okay?!<\/p>\n

Here’s my town Middelburg<\/strong><\/a> from above (photo from www.aerophotostock.com) and I marked the route we are going to walk. The little numbers (can you find them? You might wanna enlarge the photo…) refer to the places I’ll take a photo.<\/p>\n

Did you finish your coffee? Put your flat shoes on, then here we go…<\/p>\n

Let’s take another route than we did last time and start at this square. See how lovely the low Autumn sun shines on the fountain?<\/p>\n

1. Balans<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like to walk the streets along the town canals and admire the old houses (and, if I get a change, take a peek through the windows to see what the inside looks…)<\/p>\n

We walk just outside the town centre, through the back treets behind the city hall, see its tower?<\/p>\n

Let’s take a turn and cross the centre to the other side… OH LOOK, there’s someone waving at us!<\/p>\n

Here’s one of the shopping streets, but we will not go shopping today… we just have to walk a part of it to turn right at the end… and look, there’s Tall Jan keeping watch over the town.<\/p>\n

Here’s one of my favourite places in town, the ‘Fish market’.<\/p>\n

… and this is why I told you to put flat shoes on… Middelburg is no town for high heels!<\/p>\n

Let’s walk along another canel… and while we walk, we can take peeks through the little gates into the alleys that are behind it.<\/p>\n

We’ve been here before<\/a> haven’t we? It’s always nice to look at the boats in the small harbour. Tourist season is over so there aren’t that many yachts there, but still there is the bridge to admire.<\/p>\n

Yes, we’re close to my home – there’s the Eastern Church.<\/p>\n

10. Oostkerk<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

However, we’re not going home yet. Let’s take a detour and walk a bit further.<\/p>\n

11. Molenwater<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s the park that will be refurbished in the next year, but with those Autumn colors it looks good to me right now…<\/p>\n

Hey, there’s a back alley that I never walked before… let’s take that turn and see where it leads to…<\/p>\n

Oh, we end up at the little street where Sandra van der Meulen has her gallery… the flag is hanging outside which means the gallery is open, let’s go for a visit!<\/p>\n

Sandra is such a lovely lady – she serves us coffee and we get the change to admire her latest art.<\/p>\n

Now that was some ending to this walk! What? Are your feet hurt? I told you to put on your ‘easy shoes’! But hey, we’re home now, so take them off, put your feet up and enjoy the rest of your day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
