The film is called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pzc.nl\/zeeuws-nieuws\/oorlogsfilm-de-slag-om-de-schelde-moet-de-grootste-en-meeslependste-worden~aced9706\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">De Slag om de Schelde<\/a>&#8221; (&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2019\/film\/news\/netflix-dutch-war-movie-the-battle-of-the-scheldt-1203400327\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The battle of the Scheldt<\/a>&#8220;) the street was turned into a war zone and the Zeeuws Archief building was choosen to act like the headquarters of the German nazi&#8217;s. You can imagine how strange it was to step into my workroom (the room right above the front door) and see a Nazi-flag hanging in front of my window&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/filmset-01.jpg\"><img wpfc-lazyload-disable=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-27592\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/filmset-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/filmset-01.jpg 970w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/filmset-01-300x106.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.maritspaperworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/filmset-01-768x271.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, when the filming started, my collegues and I sat in the front seat &#8211; we all stood at the top windows watching! I brought my camera and took photos but those weren&#8217;t nearly as good as the pics my collegue Dani\u00ebl Obbink took. The phrase comes from a letter (from 1779) sent by a captain to his bosses in which he complaines about the behavior of his first steersman.
