Days fly by in the Zeeland. Warm sunny days alternate with rainy days, but that does not stop the tourists. Our “island” (which is actually a peninsula) is again flooded with camping guests, people staying in holiday homes and day trippers. However, when you rise really early and go for a walk in the wee hours like my friend Lena does, there’s no tourist in sight.<\/p>\n

Friday haiku<\/strong><\/p>\n

In de ochtendzon,
\neenzaam bankje op het duin
\nwie gaat er zitten?<\/td>\n		<\/td>\nIn the morning sun
\na lonely bench on the dunes
\nwho’s gonna sit there?<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

I submit this haiku to Haiku my Heart<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

My beloved and I sometimes mingle with the tourists when we go into town to shop for some necessities or drink coffee on a caf\u00e9 terrace, but at home in my small atelier it’s quite and peaceful and I created several art journal spreads over the last weeks.<\/p>\n

In week 27 something happened what, in 14 years of art journaling, never happened to me before: halfway creating a spread I noticed I had my journal laying upside down!<\/p>\n

I made the best of it and so I created an ‘upside down spread’<\/p>\n

It wasn’t on purpose, but I kinda like it!<\/p>\n

This week my days were filled with appointments (of course there’s my job but there were also nice, happy appointments like going out with a friend and having a ‘fan’ visiting me) but today is still completely empty and lays all open to me, so I put on my old work clothes and get to create with the new stuff I bought in the thrift store and the lovely embellishments that I received from workshop-student and creative friend Jeannet.
