On the second day of the year I packed my bags to go to Antwerp (Belgium) with my son for a ‘mother-son’ trip. Our partners stayed at home and the two of us spend a few days visiting museums & enjoying culture. My son hired an apartment (airbnb) and we had time together to chat, eat good food and we even drew! This trip together was a present for my 60th birthday and what a gift it was! (Don’t you think I have the most wonderful son in the world?!)
\nHere’s a little overview…<\/p>\n

We arrived at the beautiful central train station of Antwerp on Tuesday, January 2.<\/p>\n

Later that evening, Nout used that photo to make the following drawing…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

… while I drew him.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also drew a little jug that stood in the apartment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The next evening, my son read a book while I drew him again.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We visited the Plantin-Moretus museum<\/a> and the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten (KMSKA)<\/a>
\nWe also discovered a big artist store<\/a> but we couldn’t buy much as we were there by train and didn’t have much space in our suitcases…<\/p>\n

but we bought little, round price tags that Nout already used to create this:<\/p>\n

We almost forgot to take a picture of the two of us… we were already on our way back to the Netherlands when we remembered, so here’s a quick selfie in front of the train that would bring us back home.<\/p>\n
