Freewheelin’ Friday, and freewheelin’ it is!
\nNext week, I will be busy working again but this last week I just ‘freewheeled’
\na lot, playing with my ‘A Year in the Life of an Art Journal’, having fun with
\nthe ladies in my workshop and practising my drawing skills… which aren’t
\ngood enough to publish in this post, but I have some other things to show you…<\/p>\n

I’m totally in love with the bookbinding technique I learned here<\/a><\/p>\n

I made this little book (9 x 15 cm\/ 3.5 x 5.9 inch) for my mom.
\nIt has 26 pages (52 sides) so she can use it for her ‘one haiku a week’.
\nIsn’t this a cutie?\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Next, another page for A Year in the Life of an Art Journal<\/a>.
\nI’m still catching up on the prompts from last year, but I’m almost there…
\nand if you feel like art journaling too: the first prompt for 2011 is up,
\nso jump right in and join us! (I’m a guest host over there, and the other girls
\nare amazing too: that’s a guarantee for fun, isn’t it?!)<\/p>\n

The page I made is for the prompt from December 15th; and the word was<\/p>\n

Connection<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not just any connection but: “Share a story about a connection you’ve made
\nor would like to make with someone you’ve only met on line…”<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now I met so many beautiful people online (you!) who I feel connected to,
\nI even met some of the girls in real life (Hi gals! Hope to meet you again soon!)
\nbut there’s one lady which whom I have a very special connection… it’s even
\nscary sometimes, the way we feel, think, write, interact and hell, even LOOK
\nthe same! It’s almost like we really have one soul that split in two.
\nOne part settled in her body, way over the ocean, and the other part decided
\nto land in the Netherlands… it settled right in me.<\/p>\n

Through the Internet we found – and immediately ‘recognized’ – each other.
\nSounds weird, I know, but I’m sure she feels te same, for she is my soul sister!<\/p>\n

Journaling:<\/p>\n

Tired of flying through cyberspace, I landed on magpie’s nest.
\nIt seemed as Patty was already expecting me. She greeted me
\nlike a long lost friend. It didn’t take long to realize that we both
\nfound our soul sister. My paper wings never get tired from flying
\nto Patty.<\/span><\/p>\n

I used acrylic paint for the background, pieces of a map (her and my place)
\na photo transfer of a magpie’s nest (I drew some extra lines with oil crayon
\nto make it stand out more) I stamped the butterflies, the title and the
\njournaling lines and gave myself some nice paper wings.
\nAnd yep, that’s both Patty<\/a> and me on the page!<\/p>\n

A busy week lays ahead but for now, my friends,\u00a0 I’m going to
