After writing a long article for Creatief met Foto’s<\/a> this morning
\nI think I almost reached my quota of words that I have in one day
\n(and that’s a LOT – Peggy knows \ud83d\ude00 )
\nI’ve been staring at this blank blogpost-page for a while now,
\nand I really don’t know much\u00a0 to say… so let’s go straight to\u00a0 images.<\/p>\n

The chronicles of Marit – <\/strong>week 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

When we visited my parents last weekend, my mom gave me a photo book
\nwith marvelous, big photos of desert landscapes in it, to use in my art journals
\n(I also got a lot more materials and magazines to use in my work – she collects
\nall kinds of things for me and she knows just what I like! Thanks mom!!!).<\/p>\n

I choose this picture to use as a background for week 3. It wasn’t the most
\nbeautiful photo in the book (I didn’t dare to work with that one right away)
\nbut still I had trouble writing on the photo… and it shows on the page.
\nIt looks a bit forced and timid… but it’s okay.<\/p>\n

The next page for A Year in the Life of an Art Journal<\/a> is the opposite…
\nI LOVE THIS PAGE!
\nIt turned out exactly as I wanted it to look, with the exact ‘feeling’. YEAY!!!<\/p>\n

Vision<\/strong>: What is your vision for the new year? Or for your life in general?
\nWhat does the word “vision” mean to you?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Journaling:<\/strong> Do I have a vision for 2011? I have an overall idea on what
\nI expect and want to achieve next year but is it a vision? Ooh, those English
\nwords and subtle meanings. I still struggle with them sometimes. I hope to
\ncontinue the personal art journey that I started. I hope to walk the path
\nthat I am on a little further. Explore more possibilities. Learn. Teach.
\nDiscover. Play. Create. Stay true to myself. Be happy. Be healthy. Be me.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the day, I played with a dip pen, a brush and Indian ink.
\nI hadn’t worked with Indian ink since art school, and it was fun to fool
\naround with the stuff again. I could feel my drawing skills coming back
\nand I plan to keep on sketching and drawing every now and then – to
\nimprove my skills but, most of all, because it’s FUN and I can do it with
\nless light (it’s still dark early in the Netherlands!)<\/p>\n

I’m not very good at drawing faces, so I focus on that. (And next is hands,
\nI already surfed the Internet for tutorial movies on Youtube)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I must admit, I like the ‘boy in the middle – with his waving rake-hands –
\nand the buildings the best. If the faces won’t work, I can always go draw
\nskylines and buildings. Ha!<\/p>\n

And this were my words for today. In a blogpost that is.
\n(I save a few to whisper in my beloved’s ear later this evening…)<\/p>\n
