I had another kind of blogpost in mind.
\nI planned on making an art journal page about my ‘word of 2012’.
\n‘Core’, that’s my word.<\/p>\n

Then, in this post, I would show you the page and explain why
\nI choose this word.
\nI would tell you that I will try to live my life with respect for
\nmy inner core.
\nI would have explained that my goal is to seek inside, going to
\nthe very core of myself,
\nto see if the things I do and the choices I make are true and
\nhonest to the deepest of me.<\/p>\n

However…<\/p>\n

This week I came across Scrapping the Music<\/a>.
\nSeeing the new challenge that was up there, I couldn’t resist.
\nI wanted to make a layout in my ‘Album Cover Art Journal’.<\/p>\n

Although I wasn’t really aware of it – that was my first test.
\nI listened to my deepest me.
\nI went to the core and I decided to go for the music.
\nGo for creating the page that I really wanted to make.<\/p>\n

It left me no time to make my ‘core’ page,
\nbut it showed me how good it feels to be aware of that deepest feeling.
\nMy core.<\/p>\n

‘Awareness’ was my word for 2011.
\nSee how it all comes together?<\/p>\n

I think CORE is the perfect word for me, for 2012.
\nI know that already ’cause the ‘planned’ blogpost is here too.
\nIn another way than I thought I would write it.
\nMaybe even better!<\/p>\n

I’ll show you the core page after I’ve made it.
\nSometime next week.
\nToday, I show you the other stuff.<\/p>\n

Last Friday I didn’t participate in ‘Haiku my Heart’ – because of the ‘crew’
\n(ahem, 2 people) of the Dutch television that came to film me that day about
\nthe top 2000 blogparty that was going on on my blog…

After a months long break, my friend Michelle is back at Scrapping the Music<\/a>.
\nShe and the team re-arranged the challenge blog – gave it a new look and
\nblew new life into it. The first challenge of the year is to create something,
\nanything inspired by the song ‘Piece of My Heart’ (by Janis Joplin)<\/p>\n

Besides the STM challenge, Three Muses<\/a> came with a prompt to use
\nsong lyrics in your artwork… so this piece goes in there too!<\/p>\n

Aaah, ‘good ol’ Janis’ … How could I resist?
\nHere’s the page I made in my ‘Album Cover Art Journal’<\/p>\n

I’ve always loved this photo of her on that bike.
\nThis picture is on the cover of a ‘greatest hits’ album.
\nIn the Netherlands, we would call it ‘stoer’ (tough?!) and that’s exactly
\nthe line from the lyrics I choose to work with.<\/p>\n

I’m gonna show you, baby
\nthat a woman can be tough<\/em><\/p>\n

How’s that for my first artistic work in 2012?!<\/p>\n

Before I go and step into the weekend – here’s one last thing for the people
\nwho don’t know already.<\/p>\n

In the first issue of FEATURING<\/a> magazine we\u2019ll be covering the topic
\nof Etsy shops and we\u2019d like to hear your opinions on the subject through
