Good morning, good morning, GOOD MORNING it is!<\/p>\n

Aaah… hard work pays off! Yesterday evening (late) we
\nmanaged to upload the FEATURING<\/span> store on the website!
\n
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was a lot of work to figure out the shipping costs for all the different
\ncountries in the world – I came across countries I never even heard off
\n– but we managed to find all the info and get it into a ‘shop-script.’<\/p>\n

On the inchie page are the guidelines about how to submit inchies,
\nand you will find a table of contents for the first magazine in the store.
\nI am convinced that you will be amazed of what FEATURING<\/span> has to offer.<\/p>\n

And yes, it is possible to order your copy of the magazine already.
\nIf I were you I would do that \ud83d\ude09 because you don’t want to miss our
\nfirst magazine do you? \ud83d\ude00
\nWe expect to start shipping the magazine in the second half of April.<\/p>\n

Oh, and did you notice\u00a0 the deadline for submissions for the theme gallery
\nof issue #1 has passed. The artists who will be featured in our first theme
\ngallery are already notified. The theme for the second issue is now open
\nfor submissions. The new theme is \u2018THE ROAD AHEAD\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

As you can see, the whole week is about copyright.
\nAfter the interview I had with the copyright lawyer, I listened back\u00a0 to the
\n2.5 hours conversation on tape, took notes and started writing the article.
\n(I must say I had a hard time listening to my own voice – I have a ‘chicken
\nvoice’, although my men say that’s not true… I think I’m no exception though –
\nmost people don’t like the sound of their own voice when they hear it back
\non tape, am I right?)<\/p>\n
Anyway, I spend the rest of the week writing and reading about intellectual
\nproperty and checking things on the Internet. It almost felt like I did a study
\non copyright issues and law…<\/p>\n
Which brings me to something not so nice:\u00a0 someone pointed out to me some
\ninteresting things about Pinterest. I never showed much interest in Pinterest
\nmyself and I am not a member, but I know a lot of people are hooked on
\n‘pinning.’ Well, it seems Pinterest is beginning to gather a lot of attention and
\ncriticism for widespread copyright infringement.<\/p>\n
I don’t want to spoil your party and if you decide to bury your head in the sand
\nyou go right ahead, but for the ones who’d like to know: here’s a link to the best
\nwritten (in my opinion) text and explanation on this matter.<\/p>\n

I am all for sharing your work, spreading the love for art, showing the pieces
\nthat inspire you etc. And yes, we all make mistakes in leaving credits out
\nor using images in a wrong (illegal) way. I’m no saint either, I learned more
\nabout that last week diving into copyright laws…<\/p>\n
So let me say this straight:
\nYou are welcome to share my art – but you have to give credits where credit
\nis due. And I certainly don’t want to have my art published on a site that
\ninfringes copyright or thinks it has the right to ‘sell’ my work and get all the
\nprofits. That’s why I blocked ‘pinning’ from my blog.<\/p>\n
Sorry I gave some of you a sad end of this blog post…
\nI thought about it and still hesitate to mention this matter on my blog –
\nbut with copyrights on my mind all week I can not leave this unsaid.
\nI do hope you all have a lovely week anyway!<\/p>\n
