I have trouble sleeping lately, my head is full with everything that
\nis happening! The magazine is still at the printing office (we will go
\nthere to take pictures the moment they are ready to ‘get the machines
\nrolling’ – probably next Monday.)<\/p>\n

What does one do when sleep won’t come…
\nCount sheep?
\nThat’s possible, but there are more beautiful things you could do…<\/p>\n

… like looking at the night sky for instance!
\n(and write a haiku about it for Haiku my Heart Friday<\/em>)<\/p>\n

I got the sweetest email from my blogbuddy Linda ‘Phinner<\/a>‘ the other day!
\nIt made me blush the way she praised me with my\u00a0 ‘new art making’ (the
\ncanvasses I showed on my blog in the former posts) and she asked:<\/p>\n
I am also curious about your process and how you go about developing
\nsuch a piece…<\/em><\/p>\n
The way I work on those canvasses is something I did ages ago in art school
\nas an ‘in between practice’ in some sort of lesson – I can’t even remember
\nexactly what the lesson or assignment was… Anyway, it came back to me
\nwhen the designer needed a ‘background’ for the cover of FEATURING.
\nHe had some sort of ‘painting’ in his head and he asked me if I could make
\nwhat he described. The idea was to make just the layered ‘surface’ (gesso and
\npaint) but when he put the title and text on it, it ‘needed something more’…<\/p>\n
and at that moment this ‘technique\/way of working’ kinda ‘clicked’ in my head
\nso I went for it and we both love the outcome!<\/p>\n

Yes, this is it. The front cover of the debut issue of the magazine!<\/p>\n
Oh, and as you know, FEATURING has a ‘young team’ who
\nkeep me sharp, modern and up-to-date (thanks girlies!) so
\nas of now you can find us on facebook<\/a><\/strong> too!<\/p>\n
I love the fact that you can ‘officially LIKE<\/strong> the magazine now,
\nso go ahead if you LIKE<\/strong> to say that you LIKE<\/strong> FEATURING!

With this last ‘letter’ we are right back where I started: sleep.
